TOP 5 FIT BODIES TEACHING VACATION PROGRAM FAQ

#1 What is the gift fund?

The gift fund was created by Fit Bodies, Inc. at its inception as a gesture of kindness toward the resorts hosting each pro.  These resorts, no matter how large and how prestigious, do not have a budget for certain items they desire and require for the day to day operations in the entertainment and fitness departments.   The resorts we contract are in developing countries where these items are impossible to find or very expensive.  Because we have easy access and typically more economical pricing where we live, Fit Bodies, Inc. established the gift fund as a way to assist our partners.

·       The gift fund is not always the same.

Some properties ask our pros to bring certain items in their suitcase based on a value.  Your Fit Bodies, Inc. concierge will provide you with the exact items requested about one month before your departure. There is no negotiation and bringing items that were not requested is not permitted. These items will be handed to your resort contact upon arrival.  The resorts work very hard to ask for items that can easily be put in the suitcase and light weight so that you do not encounter packing issues.

Some properties ask us to collect fees at the time you purchase your teaching vacation.  These fees are accumulated and then larger items are purchased and shipped to the resorts upon request.  Or we will ship the items they request to you.

·       Thank you!  We do make a difference

Either way it is done, the gift fund is an integral part of our program and your teaching vacation experience.  All the resorts are truly grateful for the generosity of the pros in the gift giving aspect as well as the expert training their guests receive during your stay.

·       Examples of some items requested

1.   Ipods, cords, laptops, ipads

2.   Tennis racquets, soccer, tennis, volley and basketballs

3.   Wii , Playstation, Nintendo, games, boardgames

4.   Tubing,balls,bands,yoga mats

5.   Cameras,dvds, ,cds, drones, projectors

6.   Holiday decorations, costumes,makeup

·       Tips on Packing those items

1.    Take everything out of the box and mix these items in with your clothes.

2.   Put electronics such as ipods and cameras in your carry-on.  These items tend to disappear even if you think you hid them well.  I lost an i-touch and a camera which was taken out of my suitcase between Atlanta and Jamaica.  The camera was loaded with pictures that I cannot replace.

3.   Don’t think you have room?  I always pack way too much.  At these resorts you need your fitness or tennis wear, a swimsuit and cover up, flipflops and a few nice items for evening.  Leave out a couple pairs of shoes, you won’t miss them.

4. Never declare that you are bringing gift items on a customs form. Never tell a customs agent that you are bringing gifts to the hotel.  It can be misconstrued as items for resale.

#2 Can I bring older children or more than 2?

Fit Bodies, Inc. negotiated free all-inclusive (luxury unlimited or endless privileges) accommodations for the traveling teaching professional.  Each pro is allowed to bring one adult guest to each resort we contract.  At the family resorts, the pro is also allowed to bring up to two children.

·       Most of our properties allow two children 12 and under at no additional cost.

All Dreams, Now Resorts  and Sunscape Resorts

·       The following family properties have slightly different requirements

Rose Hall by Hilton allows 2 children 17 and under for free by adding $75 to the gift value per child

Hyatt Ziva allows 2 children under 16 for free

Jewel Runaway Bay allows 2 children 13 and under for free

Club Med allows 2 children 15 and undeer for free

·       What if my child is older than the age limit?

Yes, you may still travel. Children over the age limit described above are considered an adult. One adult is included at no charge.  A nightly price will be paid for each additional adult staying in your room. The majority of our resorts allow a maximum of 3 adults per room. If you are traveling with one adult companion and two teenagers you will most likely be purchasing a 2nd room as this exceeds the occupancy limits set by the resorts.  We will be happy to share with you our rate sheet with the pricing for additional rooms.

.

·       What if I have more than 2 children?

Most family resorts have a 2 adult and 2 child maximum occupancy that they strictly enforce.  This is based on the fact that the resort staff and services are designed for no more than 2 adults and 2 children per room so adding to this number will create problems with restaurant seating, food and beverage allowances, towels and more.

Dreams Puerto Aventuras and Sunscape Montego Bay currently the only resorts that allow 2 Adults and 3 children in one room with an additional charge per night for the family suite and extra child.  This is based on availability.

You will be purchasing an extra room at most other resorts so contact us for a rate quote.  We are a full service travel agency and can assist with these services.

#3 What’s the catch? Or, this is too good to be true?

We hear it all the time.  The truth is there is no catch.  Fit Bodies, Inc. has negotiated contracts with luxury all-inclusive resorts that are either 5 star or slightly lower for one room each week in the calendar per position.  Fit Bodies, Inc. offers these all-inclusive accommodations to pros that are certified and qualified to offer expert training to the resort guests of these selected resorts.  All-inclusive accommodations are free in exchange for this service including one adult guest and up to two children (age restrictions apply).  Pros pay an administration fee per week and airfare is the responsibilityof the pro.

#4 Do I have to travel Sunday to Sunday?

Almost all the resorts require Sunday travel.  We avoid any overlaps and gaps by having the pros travel the same day.  Sundays are the best because there are no classes on the schedule that day.  The resorts offer us one room per pro so if someone were to arrive a day early, the room would be occupied by the pro of the previous week. Do note that the travel day for Club Med is Saturday.

·       Can I arrive a day early or stay longer?

Some of the resorts we work with offer us discounts for our pros to add on days of leisure or to bring others along with them during their teaching vacation.  Contact us to find out rates and availability.

#5 What is the schedule?

Our contract with the resorts specifies that the pro will not be asked to teach more than 3 hours per day on the non-travel days.  Each resort puts together a particular schedule that compliments the other activities at that property.  The times on the schedule itself are not negotiable.   The class formats can change according to the specialties of each pro.  A tentative schedule is posted on the resorts details page found under BOOK A TRIP on the FitnessProTravel.com site.  This schedule is always subject to change.

There is always plenty of time for you own vacation as the group fitness instructor, yoga/pilates teacher and tennis pro at the resorts. Enjoy!!
