Yes! You should always consider Travel Insurance when you book your travel plans. Fit Bodies recommends a standalone Travel Insurance policy. We did the work and found great partners at IMGlobal.

Here is why you want to consider a separate Travel Insurance policy to any automatic coverage your credit card provides, or purchasing an air only policy through the airline:

Many credit card companies carry relatively low limits ($5000 or less) on the maximum reimbursable amount for trip cancellation. In addition, covered reasons to cancel a trip are often limited to only a few catastrophic events, such as sickness or death to a traveler.  IMG’s most basic level of coverage includes 29 covered reasons to cancel, with plans that can insure trip costs up to $150,000 per person. 

While many cards and airlines include basic medical coverage, the limits tend to be relatively low and coverage is often secondary to other insurance, with minimal coverage for pre-existing conditions.  This means the customer would need to pay up front for their medical expenses and submit a claim to their primary health insurer first.  IMG has direct billing agreements with providers all around the world and will work to minimize out of pocket expenses for the customer.  Many credit card or airline policies don’t carry adequate evacuation coverage either.

A teaching vacation is an opportunity for fitness instructors, yoga and Pilates teachers, personal trainers, sports professionals, DJs + musicians, and Hairstylists to share their skills and teaching specialties with all-inclusive resort guests for the most fabulous vacation experiences! In exchange for 1-2 activities that you lead on your non-travel days, your all-inclusive luxury accommodations are provided for you with included companion(s) for a 7-day resort stay.
A teaching vacation includes all-inclusive accommodations, food, beverages, and top-shelf alcohol, amenities, entertainment and activities - just like what a full-paying resort guest receives.

This is a great reference page for Requirements to Travel with Fit Bodies! Certified, experienced, and currently teaching fitness, yoga, and tennis coaches. Instructors of Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, General Group Exercise, Personal trainers who offer small group training, plus tennis instructors, pickleball and golf pros have opportunities to travel. Any form of group-led fitness or wellness class could qualify for the program, from aqua fitness to barre and everything in between. DJs and solo/duet musicians have positions available too, and massage therapists have occasional opportunities.

The Fit Bodies program is for dedicated professionals, 21 years of age or older, with experience, certifications, and currently teaching in their field(s) of expertise. Certifications accepted will vary based on the teaching specialty(ies) you offer. Once you are certified, one year of professional teaching experience in the modality you will be teaching at the resort is mandatory.


FITNESS, as in Group Exercise Instructor or Personal Trainer with experience working in small groups: Nationally recognized organizations such as ACE, AFAA, IFTA, CanFitPro, NSCA, and others. 
YOGA: Some positions may require 200 hours or higher but membership with Yoga Alliance or other professional organization requiring dues.
PILATES: Nationally or internationally recognized Pilates teaching certification.

ZUMBA: Anyone offering “Zumba®” classes must be currently licensed to do so.
TENNIS/Pickleball: USPTA, PTR, Tennis Canada

MASSAGE: Teaching vacations for LMT's do not always exist, but sometimes. These are open to current Licensed Massage Therapists. Individuals credentialled to teach massage techniques, possibly to existing spa staff, may be appropriate. 

Current certifications are required for participation as a guest instructor. Participants signed up to teach have agreed to maintain current status of professional certification, keeping that documentation updated in the professional's FitnessProTravel.com account.

Every resort page has details listing an overview of weekly instructor expenses. The fees vary slightly from one resort to the next. Each resort page will look something like this:

Big question so lets break it down for the new user who is a fitness/yoga/tennis or other similar kind of instructor.

Once a new user's account is complete and approved, then booking access is offered based on instructor's teaching specialties. This site shows real time booking availability. It's up to each instructor to take the initiative to login and view teaching vacation opportunities. We are here for your questions.
Reviews from other instructors, posted teaching schedules are helpful and on each resort page.
Once you make a selection, place it into your shopping cart and proceed to checkout. We confirm bookings within 24 hours and then you will be set to secure your airfare. Once at the resort, teach on non-travel days offering amazing, motivated, safe and efficient programming. You and your included companions enjoy the resort just like regular guests!

Nope; we are teaching vacation specialists. Lots of great down time to enjoy lovely vacation memories and tons of amenities when you take a teaching vacation. And don't forget about your included companion(s)!

Taking kids? Read on. 
There is a maximum of four people allowed in a room at family resorts.  You can either have two adults , plus two children ages 12 or younger or three adults, where the 3rd adult is between the ages of 13-17, with a nightly rate for the 3rd adult, plus one child age 12 or younger. This is a resort rule, not a Fit Bodies, Inc. rule and applies to children over 2 and cannot be altered. If you have more than 2 children and an adult companion you will need a second room. Fit Bodies, Inc. customer service can assist with rates and availability.

We do not have any resorts that host a family of five in one room; upgrading to a different room category is not an option in this scenario. You will need to get a 2nd room based on single occupancy for your adult companion.

In addition to your included one adult guest, most family-friendly resorts include two children age 12 and younger. Infants under 2 may be allowed complimentary depending on the resort (regardless of quantity for a family of five). There is no guarantee that a child under the age two and younger is allowed in the room as a family of five for the Fit Bodies instructor.

The following resorts consider a child to be anyone 12 or younger: Sunscape, Now, and Dreams Resorts. At these named resorts, children 13-17 are considered an adult and you will need to check with us for rates for your teenager nightly rate. Your teenager may be your included adult companion in lieu of another adult.

Some family-friendly resorts allow children older than 12 and still consider them to be 'children'. Hyatt Ziva will allow two child companions age 16 and younger. Club Med Punta Cana and Cancun allows two child companions 17 and younger.  Jewel Grande Montego Bay and the Club Med Resorts in Asia consider children 15 and under.

As of 2023, we are unable to accommodate 3 adults in a room; upgrading to a different room category is not an option in this scenario. Our contract with our resort partners is for the pro and one adult companion (Adult resorts) or 2 adults and 2 children (all ages resorts).

Members of the program can book and travel as little or as much as they'd like. There is no minimum or maximum number of weeks needed to travel.

WHO is included: All resort positions include one adult companion complimentary. Family-friendly resorts also include kiddos but read on if you're taking kids.

Our contract is for the pro and one adult companion. We are unable to handle three adults in a room. Kelly would be happy to quote additional room rates for your additional companion.

Your additional desired companions can be accommodated but will not be included in your teaching vacation package. It's the instructor responsibility to become aware of fees for additional companions prior to securing a date. Customer service is helpful, email here.


A THIRD ADULT can often be added onto the guest instructor room at family-friendly resorts for children ages 13-17. An additional adult guest cannot be substituted for the kids. An additional adult guest will always have a fee equivalent to the triple occupancy per person rate.

There are rules for how many total occupants can be in one room. No more than 4 people with a max of 3 adults in a room at family resorts**This is a resort rule, not a Fit Bodies, Inc. rule and applies to children over 2 and cannot be altered. If you have more than 2 children and an adult companion you will need a second room. Fit Bodies, Inc. customer service can assist with rates and availability. 

Yes, you must have an account login and some membership level (even a free trial) to access resort locations and weeks that are available for booking. See FAQs here in the membership section to learn more.
No - all membership levels have complete viewing access to all available weeks to book. Nothing is ever hidden from your view based on your membership level, and you are able to view the same availability for each resort regardless of your membership status. Depending in which level(s) you are upgrading to and from, upgrading your membership level may give you access to book travels further in advance.

Yes. Every date available to book at our resorts shows up for all member levels, even the Basic level. All the features are available to all paid membership levels, including searching teaching vacation availability, and resort position details available at each varying resort. 


Basic members have limited booking access- you can only books the upcoming 4 weeks, if there is availability. 

If you are in an active 30 day Trial membership, you will be able to log in and see travel dates available. You will need to upgrade to a Basic membership or higher to book travel.

Upgrading to Travel membership immediately gives booking access to up to 13 months in advance. Upgrading to a Medallion or Enterprise membership immediately gives you booking access up to 15 months in advance.

The annual Travel membership offers you the chance to make a reservation or booking up to 13 months in advance. TRAVEL membership gives further access to the networking features of the website, for messaging and friendship of other instructors who love teaching vacations. Many resorts book up in advance, so a Travel level membership gives you more time to make a booking and secure that dream vacation you have been eyeing! 
This level is great for instructors who book and travel often. Also great for those who want FIRST ACCESS when new dates open up. Medallion members can book a position up to 15 months in advance. Travel members can book up to 13 months in advance (for comparison's sake). 
Medallion members receive 5% off everything on the site except gift funds.
Terms and conditions say membership fees paid on FitnessProTravel.com are non-refundable. If you question your qualifications for a teaching position, you're invited to contact the program's Customer Service Specialists to review your account specialties and consult on your best teaching vacation options before upgrading membership on the site.

Log into your account on fitnessprotravel.com. Locate the links at the top of the page, click on MY ACCOUNT (next to your username). A big display of account options will appear on the left side of the page- One of these is Certifications. Click there and follow instructions to add the certification details and upload a copy (small to medium picture files taken with a smart phone work well). Don't forget to 'save changes'.

If you are on a Mobile device, click 3 horizontal lines at top. Scroll down that menu to under 'Account Settings', go to Certifications. Click there and follow directions.

Approved Fit Bodies travelers can book as many weeks as desired at one time or throughout the year, consecutive or not consecutive. Some pros will go from one resort to another, while others will stay at one place for a couple weeks. Many people travel for entire seasons, or multiple weeks in a row. No matter what your travel style, there is a Fit Bodies teaching vacation ready for you. 

There are a few select resorts that do not allow pros to book back-to-back weeks. Make sure that you read the Resort Details Page in completion to find these resorts that do not allow consecutive week bookings.
Fit Bodies travelers ALWAYS wait to receive a confirmation before booking flights. NEVER BEFORE YOUR FLIGHTS UNTIL YOU RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION OF YOUR BOOKING. We encourage you to research flights, so you know the costs to expect, but your booking must be confirmed by Fit Bodies first in order to advance and secure your flights.

Your booking will go from "Processing" in your account to "Confirmed" and your 'check in voucher' and 'Trip Details' .pdf letters will become available once the trip is confirmed. Once your booking is confirmed, airfare can be secured whenever you'd like. Remember, it's incredibly rare for airfare to decrease in price. Do not wait for pricing to go down.

Many of our pros like to use apps or websites like Scott's Cheap Flights; Google flights; Hopper; Kayak or your preferred airlines to secure best airfare prices. Also, don't forget many credit cards have great points offers that could help reduce your flight booking costs.

In some cases, you can change and update companion information 1 time prior to travel. Please note, you may not change companions mid-weed at any Fit Bodies resort locations.


Please note our terms and conditions around change of companions as of March 2024. 

  • When adding or changing companions within 5 weeks of travel the instructor will incur a $150 fee.

  • Companions must arrive and depart with the professional.  
  • Once the instructor is inside of 5 weeks, a companion may not be added.
  • Club Med Caribbean and Canada do not allow companion changes.  All companion information must be submitted at the time of booking to be included and may not be changed. 

In the case that you do have a change of companion (in the appropriate timeframe), please send your companion updates to the resort concierge where you are traveling, including their full name and birthdate, as soon as possible.

We do not provide refunds so this coverage can offer confidence in booking for a minimal expense. Click here to view the options available through Visitors Coverage Travel Insurance Solutions.  If a booked pro cannot travel or needs to change the dates, they must contact us immediately so we can cover the vacated session.  Changing the resort or date of travel outside of 90 days to departure incurs a $250 change fee* per week.  This must be paid immediately to receive a credit for future booking. No credit will be issued if this remains unpaid once you are within the 90 days of your cancelled dates. The process: Notify Fit Bodies, Inc. that you need to make a change. You will pay the change fee** immediately so that the administration fee you paid to book the resort can be held as credit. All credits are valid for May through October travel only, within 12 months of cancelling, and we will apply the credit and change your booking.  If you do not know, we will hold this credit for up to 365 days from the date our office received correspondence of the pending cancellation. Cancelling a teaching vacation for ANY reason (no exceptions) forfeits the administration and gift fees to Fit Bodies, Inc. along with a penalty of $250 charged at the time of cancellation. You are not able to change within 90 days of departure and it will be treated as a cancellation. Reimbursement of travel expenses can only be collected via valid policy and claim with a travel insurance company of choice. We recommend IMGlobal. Fit Bodies, Inc. offers no rollovers or refunds.  If the pro finds a qualified replacement (must be an active premium member) to cover the vacated position, they will be charged the appropriate change fee to complete the transaction. 

*Booking of Holiday weeks is a final sale - Easter, Thanksgiving, President's week and the last two weeks of December. Holiday weeks may not be changed nor will a credit be issued for future travel.

Here is more on the Gift Fund:
The fee is now included as part of your Teaching Vacation order.  Fit Bodies handles acquiring and shipping items directly. There is a rare chance you will be asked to carry items with you on your vacation. You may have to check luggage for this gift item or it may be smaller and lightweight that can fit in a carry-on. If you have to check luggage, there will still be room for your personal items, so you will not be reimbursed for luggage fees. A piece of luggage checked one way may be compressed, such as a duffle bag, so you would not need to check it on the way home as well. 

Your gift gives back and supports resorts for items needed that are likely not very attainable or totally out of budget for the Entertainment or Sports Departments. We appreciate you and so do the Teams!

Yes; it's important your profile with us is up to date with quality and current profile picture. In addition, current certifications need to be uploaded into your account. The account holder's profile needs to be completed, from bio to professional experience telling us who you are, what you teach, how long you have been teaching. Yes. Instructors sometimes create retreats totally seaprate from the teaching vacation program. Other times an instructor will combine the teaching vacation position with a retreat booking. Taking your students to the beach is an amazing experience for both you and them. We can help. Let us offer you info beyond the constaints of an FAQ page. Bookings are often confirmed within 24-48 hours of placing your order. An order receipt is emailed to you as soon as an order is placed. Order receipts will have instructions to help you prepare for your teaching vacation position.


You may log into your account at FitnessProTravel.com to view all bookings and their confirmation status. Once a booking goes from "Processing" to "Confirmed", then your booking is confirmed. A Confirmed booking means your 'check in voucher' and 'Trip Details' pdf downloads are available. A confirmed booking status also means it's ok to secure airfare and other travel plans. 

When your booking is confirmed, [email protected] will send you emails. These emails are important! Make sure that you read them all entirely, every time you travel with us, and most especially if you are traveling for the first time with Fit Bodies. Some of the topics covered in these emails are details and instructions about your trip, travel insurance, or ground transportation booking information (if applicable to your booking). You may receive emails requiring action, such as updating your account certifications or profile picture, etc. 

Staying at a resort as a Fit Bodies traveler, you receive the room and amenities included, just like all other full-paying guests. However, you are considered part of the entertainment team (staff). 


Please note, Fit Bodies Travelers do not  and should not request special meals. This includes vegan, kosher, gluten-free, or for specific allergies 
for you or your companions or guests. Do not worry, you will find menu items on every menu to fit your special needs. 

For example, if a vegan entre is not on the menu, you may order the vegetarian entre and request it be made dairy free. If you are gluten intolerant or celiac- when choosing your dish from the menu, request your waiter to confirm with the kitchen it is gluten free. This is different than requesting something be made specific just for you.  At the buffet, please ask for assistance, if needed, to identify items to suit your dietary needs. As an extension of the resort staff, you do not make special requests of other staff members, including the chefs. Menus are published at all restaurants so that you can view them beforehand to make your dining choices.
 

Resorts may be able to offer you an upgrade on your room. This is something that you will as the resort about direct, on arrival only, and based upon availability at the time of check-in. This is not something you can request or reserve in advance. 

If you are interested in a room upgrade, upon arrival, you can request pricing and availability for an upgraded room. Always be patient on your check-in and present yourself pleasantly to receive the best results with resort staff. 


When you place your order, you are asked about the bedding arrangements you would like. We do note these bedding preferences with the resort, and they do their very best to accommodate your request. There is never a guarantee that you will receive the exact bedding arrangement you request. 

Yes, all traveling pros with Fit Bodies are required to book their own flights. You can secure your airfare anytime once your booking shows 'Confirmed' in your account.

Remember, it's rare for airfare to decrease in price as travel date grows nearer. Do not wait to secure airfare, especially with hope of price decreasing.

Many of our pros like to use apps or websites like Scott's Cheap Flights; Google flights; Hopper; Kayak or your preferred airlines to secure best airfare prices. Also, don't forget many credit cards have great points offers that could help reduce your flight booking costs.

In some cases, you can change and update companion information 1 time prior to travel. Please note, you may not change companions mid-weed at any Fit Bodies resort locations.


Please note our terms and conditions around change of companions as of March 2024. 

  • When adding or changing companions within 5 weeks of travel the instructor will incur a $150 fee.

  • Companions must arrive and depart with the professional.  
  • Once the instructor is inside of 5 weeks, a companion may not be added.
  • Club Med Caribbean and Canada do not allow companion changes.  All companion information must be submitted at the time of booking to be included and may not be changed. 

In the case that you do have a change of companion (in the appropriate timeframe), please send your companion updates to the resort concierge where you are traveling, including their full name and birthdate, as soon as possible. 

 

Outside of 90 days to travel time there are options to change your booking. This is different from cancelling. You can change a booking outside of 90 days. We need to know AS SOON POSSIBLE if you need to change a booking, so please do not wait to make needed adjustments to your teaching obligations.

We do not provide refunds so this coverage can offer confidence in booking for a minimal expense. Click here to view the options available through Visitors Coverage Travel Insurance Solutions.  If a booked pro cannot travel or needs to change the dates, they must contact us immediately so we can cover the vacated session.  Changing the resort or date of travel outside of 90 days to departure incurs a $250 change fee* per week.  This must be paid immediately to receive a credit for future booking. No credit will be issued if this remains unpaid once you are within the 90 days of your cancelled dates. The process: Notify Fit Bodies, Inc. that you need to make a change. You will pay the change fee** immediately so that the administration fee you paid to book the resort can be held as credit. All credits are valid for May through October travel only, within 12 months of cancelling, and we will apply the credit and change your booking.  If you do not know, we will hold this credit for up to 365 days from the date our office received correspondence of the pending cancellation. Cancelling a teaching vacation for ANY reason (no exceptions) forfeits the administration and gift fees to Fit Bodies, Inc. along with a penalty of $250 charged at the time of cancellation. You are not able to change within 90 days of departure and it will be treated as a cancellation. Reimbursement of travel expenses can only be collected via valid policy and claim with a travel insurance company of choice. We recommend IMGlobal. Fit Bodies, Inc. offers no rollovers or refunds.  If the pro finds a qualified replacement (must be an active premium member) to cover the vacated position, they will be charged the appropriate change fee to complete the transaction. 

*Booking of Holiday weeks is a final sale - Easter, Thanksgiving, President's week and the last two weeks of December. Holiday weeks may not be changed nor will a credit be issued for future travel.

We need to fill positions as far out as possible so please do not wait to make needed adjustments to your teaching obligations. Changes to resort or date are not allowed within 60 days of trip departure. Ground transportation can be secured after your teaching vacation is confirmed and airfare is secured.  Upon your booking confirmation, a 'Trip Details' pdf letter becomes available in your profile and everything about travel and teaching at that resort is listed there for you.


When a transfer booking is confirmed, your transfer info and instructions are sent from [email protected]. You are welcome to refer to that email. 


*A few resorts include ground transportation to and from the resort: Club Med Resorts (generally) and Couples Resorts.

*Mexico, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic airport transportation is handled by our partners at AmstarDMC. Transfer services can be purchased through the Pro Shop→ Transfers and Lounges section on fitnessprotravel.com.

Changing or cancelling your booking is an email procedure. Inform your Customer Service Specialist team ASAP if you cannot keep your teaching position. [email protected] and be sure you receive a response.

If you really, really want or need to depart on Saturday you can. But the class schedule is #1 priority and any flight or other travel arrangements must occur after the teaching schedule is complete. You need to communicate with your Fit Bodies Customer Service Specialist to ensure your reservation details are perfect in this case, with Saturday departure after teaching notated.

The same policy does not apply for Club Med Resorts with Saturday to Saturday travel. It's required to check out on Saturday for those resorts. 

Taxis may be most useful for moving from one resort to another within the same airport vicinity. If you are in Mexico, Dominican Republic or Costa Rica then Fit Bodies Customer Service Staff can arrange private car or van service with Amstar DMC. The rate depends on the specifc travel situation. You can email Erica, who specialized in ground transportation with us, for a custom rate on private ground transportation.

Special ground transportation support will be needed to book round trip airport transfer where you arrive to one resort but depart back to the airport from another. 

If you are traveling to a resort offering included airport transportation, this is to and from the airport each one way. Additional airport trips for other companions traveling separately may not qualify for the included service.

Travel Reward links specific to your account can be found when logged in by clicking on MY ACCOUNT from top of the page >> Click on TRAVEL REWARDS ACCOUNT from the left border >> Click Tell-A-Friend, which will provide unique referral link. Previous confirmed referrals and any payout history of reward points can be found in this area as well.

When sharing your link, be sure that your friends clear their internet 'cache' and browsing history if they have visited fitnessprotravel.com before. This is the only way that you will receive any credit for a referral. Also, please be sure to read the rules around the Travel Rewards program to understand how you can earn points.
Points are earned based upon your membership type at the time of referral and the actions your referral people take when signing up with Fit Bodies.
  • Trial or Basic memberships = 0 points, but a big thank you.
  • Travel memberships = Formula that calculates referral's new membership fee paid x 8% x 100
  • Medallion memberships = Formula that calculates referral's new membership fee paid x 10% x 100.  Additionally, this membership level receives an ongoing reward of base travel booking fees paid by referral x100 x 1% in points.
  • Enterprise memberships = Formula that calculates referral's new membership fee paid x 20% x 100.  Additionally, this membership level receives an ongoing reward of base travel booking fees paid by referral x 100 x 1% in points.
Auto Renewal Membership Rewards - For those that select an auto-renewal membership type, there is not only a reduced membership fee, but you also earn additional travel reward points each year when the membership renews.  Travel auto renew memberships receive 500 points. Medallion auto renew memberships receive 2000 points.  And, Enterprise auto renew memberships receive 5000 points.

In 2024, we will be transitioning to a consistent number based referral rewards system.  Travel Reward points will remain similar to the above calculations, but become much simpler for you to know what to expect in most cases.
Most Often =>
Travel Reward referrals must be first time visitors to the site.  You may utilize your rewards link correctly and they may follow it to the site correctly, but if they have visited the website previously the subscription form will recognize their computer ip and correctly not make the rewards connection.

Also-Or =>
A referral that comes to the site and signs up for a Basic membership off of a referral does not earn points and is not listed under your referrals list.  Travel, Medallion, and Enterprise memberships are considered premium memberships and these are the ones that earn reward points.  Even if the connection is done correctly, if no points are earned the referral will not show up in your list of referrals.
