Dreams Riviera Cancun

My 7th trip to DRC and amazing as always! It had been 5 years since my last visit and there had been one major change. Classes now taught poolside versus the gym. I taught 8am Stretch and 9am Tone and Sculpt. The entertainment team set up tents for the 9am class(8am class was not too too sunny/hot) to stay out if the sun and participants ranged from 2-10 depending on the day. Entertainment also offered to plug my iPod in and use my music or put on whatever type of fitness music I requested ( I brought a small Bluetooth speaker and could've used that too if I wanted). Participants were so friendly and kind. Food, room, service and entertainment were fabulous and every time I visit it seems they add/change things to the daily activities, food ambiance etc to enhance the experience. Using the app to get daily information on activities, restaurants/bars, shows was great too.

They were incredible. Every one of them. I loved them all. They were helpful, participated and made me so Comfortable. It was a perfect week. We have zero complaints. It was everything I wanted plus so much more. We are rebooking this resort.

Taught Pilates all over this resort! Gazebo in the center of the pool, on a deck next to the ocean, dance floor next to the pool deck...taking your own bluetooth is probably best. They have mats and towels. The staff was great. In particular, Omar, Joel & Jazz were very helpful. This teaching vacation was perfect. The Entertainment Staff is SO busy (as at every resort) but very friendly. The first day my mats were already set up and after that, I was kind of running my own show. We agreed to a 1hr stretch class at 8am and 1hr Pilates mat class at 9am. After the first two days we changed 1 stretch to a 1/2 hr class based on participants preference. They just wanted a quick stretch before breakfast. The Pilates folks preferred a 45 min class. Participation varied from day to day and class to class. I had to be proactive about getting people to come. I don’t think I was part of the entertainment team’s overall plan. But, that was okay with me and I’m guessing it was a relief for them to not have to worry about me. All-in-all this was a very relaxed and just plain super teaching vacation. My only suggestion is to post the location of the classes in addition to the schedule. People had to hunt for me. :-)

This was a great experience. This was my 1st teaching vacation and I loved it. I will absolutely do this again. I would actually come back and teach again at Dreams Riviera Cancun. The booking process was pretty smooth with FitBodies . The communication and response times we quick and answered all my questions. The flight was perfect no delays. When we arrived in Mexico we were surprised there were no Customs forms to fill out. They are digital now, which made the whole process smooth and fast. The ride to the resort from the airport was about 25 mins. When we got the resort we were greeted by the amazing staff. We were checked in in about 20 minutes and made our way down to check out the pool and the rest of the resort, which was amazing. I loved that the resort only required me to teach 2 am classes. I was free for the rest of the day to do excursions and dinners with my boyfriend off the resort in Cancun. This was the most perfect vacation.

Taught group fitness classes in the gym and on the pool deck. Right now, most of the spin bikes need maintenance so plan on teaching general group fitness. Great experience as always!

Taught yoga and pilates on the pool deck. the resort plays music over the loudspeaker and I have no control over it. The entertainment team was wonderful - I love the animadores and participated in other activities offered because I wanted to be a part of the team. Thank you for the opportunity and experience! The FB group was really helpful for practical suggestions on what to bring, etc.

The resort was beautiful and the staff were incredible. My only complaint is that the head of entertainment, Alejandro, wanted me to teach Pilates even though I signed up to teach yoga. I am not certified to teach Pilates and told him that and he said we could just call it yogalates. They had one of their local staff teaching yoga in the gym at 8:30am and I was teaching by the pool at 9am so attendance was low every day. There was also a 10am on the schedule but I only taught that class once or twice. It was way too hot by that time to be teaching anything out of the water. Alejandro tried recruiting people to that class calling it pilates...I just taught it as a core and stretch class. They also didn't have my flyer up the entire week I was there. When I reminded Alejandro of this towards the end of my trip he seemed irritated so I just let it go. There were issues getting it from FitBodies but I don't know what the reasons were.

The booking process is excellent. So easy to search and book! I loved everything about this resort! At check-in the front desk said they weren’t aware that I was bringing my children. I showed them the Fit Bodies letter and they made the correction, no hassle. Alejandro, the entertainment manager, met us in the lobby and immediately took us out to the pool area to show me where I would be teaching. I had signed up on FPT to teach Cycling, but Alejandro said that the prefer to have us teach stretching and then yoga simply for visibility to the guests. He said that since the guest have to seek out the gym, it isn’t a popular format. I am not certified to teach yoga, so we decided on yogalates for the second class. The entertainment team was very helpful. They never wanted me to have to get my own mats and apologized when they weren’t set up in the morning. They would also bring extra towels and a cooler with bottles of water. The entire staff was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed talking with them throughout the day/evening and supporting their activities. The grounds are lovely and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel taken care of. I sought out a resort specifically to teach cycling so it was a little disappointing not to be able to do that, but overall this was an amazing week! I would definitely book here again. It wasn’t available for next year’s spring break, so we booked at Jewel Grande. Looking forward to trying another resort! Thank you so much! Everything was seamless. We flew Delta direct from Atl to Cun and all flights were on time. Immigration had no wait and took less than 10 minutes. The longest wait was at baggage claim and took close to an hour.

Taught yoga in the gazebo by the pool. also restaurant terrace on one day it rained. I love teaching! Plenty of relaxation time too when I travel this way. The staff was super friendly. I feel like I worked out some kinks during this trip since it was my first. I’m very ready for my next trip in May!! I love having the opportunity to travel and teach yoga!

I taught a 9am Stretch class daily by the pools. Class size averaged about 8 participants and was about 40 minutes long. We did a stretching flow with some basic core work mixed in. I received lots of positive feedback from participants and staff. I also taught a 10:30am Bootcamp class also in the pool area. This class averaged about 6 participant daily...which I was pleased and surprised with as it was quite hot. I used a timer for this class with lots of breaks and found that class length of 30 min was right with the heat. The class was all bodyweight exercises, and to mix it up and cool off, we did some exercises in one of the wading pools! The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. I had an absolute blast for my first teaching vacation and can't wait to book my next one.

This was such a great experience! Taught 2 back to back classes each morning and then had the rest of the day to play. My Travel Tips: 1. The smoothie bar inside the buffet restaurant is amazing!!! It's kind of hidden in a little window behind the kids' food wall, but it made my day every day. (Pineapple, kale, spinach, strawberry and fresh squeezed orange juice=PERFECTION). 2. It's fun to walk to the beach and hang a right then walk down the beach to the little beach town a mile walk away. Just special to see something a little more authentically Mexican. 3. If you walk to the beach and hang a left, you can get a REALLY great 1 hour beach front massage for $50. 4. If you want to go on a bike tour (included at the resort), make sure you pack tennis shoes, they won't let you go in sandals/flip flops. This was SO fun. Such a gift. the resort is beautiful and SO nice, great food, wonderful. entertainment The waves are chill b/c of the reef, which makes swimming in the ocean with kids not scary at all.

E-staff here was great! Unfortunately my trip was on and off torrential rain for the majority of the week so a lot the outdoor entertainment was moved inside and the resort flooded but with the air conditioned indoor studio above the spa my classes remained on! With the weather, attendance was higher (surprisingly), bringing in 5-9 students per class for 8am yoga and 9am stretch Monday through Saturday. I brought my iPad so I was able to play my yoga music as there’s no wired hookup or stereo to use in the room. I had to mute the overhead speakers at the start of class which a spa employee did for me everyday as well as turn off the studio television and air conditioning. Normally I’d think the AC would be very welcomed but it only hit highs of 75 degrees during my trip so I turned off the air and opened the exterior door. The cross breeze, smells from outside and noises of birds passing added beautifully to the calming atmosphere. The only downside to the room was I had to kick out a few guests who walked in mid-class to utilize the spin bikes or punch a punching bag. Guests were super appreciative of my classes and it was a joy teaching here. The resort is small but that was one of the things I loved about it. All the food was delicious especially the French & Italian restaurant which I went to twice each. The coffee shop has great morning pastries, mid day healthy snacks and gluten free breads! This resort is very family oriented so if you have children then I’d highly suggest it! Even watching weddings everyday over the beach in the gazebo was fun each night. (Yes there was a wedding every night... sadly two were rained out indoors though.) I’ve been doing teaching vacations for five years now and I thought this resort was great!
