At Secrets Capri Cana I thought two classes. The first class was Gentle Yoga and stretch at 8.30 am. The second class Vinyasa Yoga with more straighten core and power yoga at 9.30am. The class was attended from 2 to 8 people, E-Team were participating every class. Yoga mats and yoga blocks are located at the fitness center, every day I had to make a few rounds by myself to bring them outside. The resort is small, nice, romantic and quite, not so many activities are going on there. Take your loved one and go there. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Food is delicious.

Taught 8:30 and 9:30am yoga M - Sat on the grassy area by the gazebo Jan 26 - Feb 2, 2020. 7 - 12 participants for every class. Lots of people trying yoga for the first time. Resort is smaller and traditional hacienda style. Beautiful beach, excellent food, service and top-notch entertainment team. The room we had at this resort was possibly our least favorite of the Secrets we have visited. (Some we upgraded.) Since this resort is smaller and has a loyal clientele, during high season they run close to 100% capacity. So, we were happy to have the tropical view room with 2 double beds. The housekeeping staff will push beds together and make it up as a super king - and that worked well. Ask for the down pillows. Also, follow the Fans of Capri on Facebook and you will have all the insider info.

The staff here was very helpful. Check in was easy. I liked everything about the resort. I do think they need to put up something for shade. It would make outdoor classes perfect.

I ended up teaching a yoga/stretch class at 8:30 am. I had between 2-4 participants as the resort was only 75% full in September. My participants were between 30s and 60s in age. I really enjoyed working with Hector and the E-Team and am planning on going back next year!

First impressions were wonderful when we were greeted with cold towel & glass of sparkling wine. Zero participants for first and last day; numbers between varied from 2 to 6, with E-team joined half the time. Class times 9am (Strong30) & 10am (zumba). One to one for Strong30 on Thursday. No speaker provided for the 9am class so used own. The suggested location for Strong30 was the grassy area outside gazebo but this would have been unsafe due to uneven surface and extreme temperature. Strong30 was not advertised on physical board in the Entertainments Announcements so was only attended by the same person each time. Guests at this small, compact resort not interested cardio based group fitness classes outside. Once I had completed my obligations I offered one to one “Sunbed Stretch” sessions in situ. Gym was good size, well equipped with good air conditioning. Housekeeping have a bizarre habit of moving personal possessions so we kept Do Not Disturb sign on for the duration as we found it intrusive. Food is variable in quality but plentiful in quantity. If you purchase a premium wine the quality is consistently excellent.

I taught yoga here the week of April 28 - May 5. We very much enjoyed our stay. My husband and I are pretty hooked on the Secrets brand as they never disappoint. I was asked to teach two yoga classes in the morning, one at 8:30 and one at 9:30 for 45 minutes each. Attendance ranged from 4 or 5 to 14 for the early class and 1 - 4 for the later class. On two days (Wednesday and Saturday) we didn't have anyone for the second class. Accommodations are very nice and the food is fresh and delicious at all of the restaurants as well as room service. Every single employee is warm and welcoming and they all go out of their way to make sure each guest is having the best experience possible. These people work so hard, so if you can, please consider tipping. We usually leave $2 or $3 US singles for buffet meals and at least $5 US for the evening meals. It is truly appreciated. Pool/beach towels and chairs are plentiful and the wait staff at the pool is amazing. Overall, we had a lovely time.

This is probably our 10th trip with fitbodies and I would rank the food and entertainment as one of the best we’ve been to. Hilario, who ran the gym, was very helpful and real easy to deal with if we needed anything. Classes were at great times and fairly well attended. As far as resort goes it was our first time in the Mayan. Expect windy days every day around this time of year. As well be prepared for a lot of seaweed. They do have workers moving it and raking the beach all day long. Wasn’t a big deal to us but it’s there and everywhere. Other then that it was pretty good. Not a modern resort and a it is outdated in areas.8:30- Stretching class(avg. 6 people) 9:30-Boot camp (avg. 3-4) Both classes were taught near pool by the gazebo on the grass

I taught during the week of June 10 and had a wonderful time at this resort. It's a small resort so it's intimate and it only takes you 2 minutes to get from the hotel lobby to the pool or beach, which is great and convenient! I was scheduled to teach Zumba at 10:30am every morning. I taught by the gazebo garden and the pool -- the first day I only had one participant, but then I had at least 5 - 10 participants for the remaining days. The first two days were sunny, the remaining days were rainy so we did the classes indoors at the Desires Bar. The entertainment team at this resort is wonderful and they helped advertise my class and make sure people came. If not enough people came, at least one e-team member would participate and do Zumba with me. You don't need to worry about bringing your own speaker -- they have their own pool-side speaker for outdoors, and if indoors, they have their own sound system within the Desires Bar.

The entertainment team worked so hard to help me. They are a smaller staff and as a whole, most guests avoided activities that were outside the pool. The guests did often remark that they enjoyed what they saw The resort is beautiful and intimate, geared towards couples, many of whom are repeat guests. The food was excellent and the staff was top notch. My friend and I very much enjoyed the spa and the Desires Bar at night where there were plenty of gaming options. We chose to stay on the resort grounds for the week. To me, high level of value for the short amount of time I had to teach daily.

I taught two classes: Kickboxing at 9am and Zumba at 10am. The original schedule had me teaching Stretching at 9, so there was some confusing and I ended up alternating Stretching classes based on participants requests. Several mornings we had rain so that cut down on participation significantly. Most days I only taught one of the 2 classes: Mon - 2 for Kickboxing, no Zumba Tues - 1 for Stretching, 5 for Zumba Wed - no Kick, 1 staff member for Zumba (rainy day) Thurs - no Stretch, 2 staff for Zumba (rainy day) Fri - no Kick, 1 staff for Zumba (rainy day) Sat - 2 for Stretch, 3 for Zumba All classes were taught near the gazebo area outside and in the case of rain, in the Desires Bar.The Entertainment team was awesome and the resort was equally amazing. Of all the 6 formats I teach, I didn't think Kickboxing was the best choice for a 9 am class. A Stretching or Barre class would have been better (I am not certified to teach Pilates or Yoga, but those would be ideal as well). Zumba was successful when the weather cooperated. My best advice for instructors would be to go with the flow and be prepared for any last minute changes or modifications. Also, be aware that the humidity is high and the sun is strong, so be aware of your participants' level and check in with them frequently. Wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and be ready to tone down your workouts accordingly. Bring workout clothes for every day. I tried to hand wash my clothes at night but nothing dried because it was so humid! I would also recommend one offsite visit and take advantage of the Spa. Overall, I very much enjoyed this experience and will likely do it again soon.

8:30 am and 9:30 am mixing between pilates/boot camp for 2 days and yoga/pilates the remaining 4 days. Participants ranged from 1-12 per class.
Jan 29th, 2018 11:59:36am
I taught 2 classes per day. Boot camp Monday through Saturday at 8:30 am. Monday through Wednesday aqua Zumba at 12:00 and Thursday through Saturday zumba at 10:30 am. For boot camp 1/2 the days i had no participants and had 8 one day and 3 the remaining days. It was early and they had a crossfit class in rhe gym at the same time. Aqua zumba akways has a good turn out because it is at the pool by the bar where people are already hanging out. Had 1 participant at regular zumba and she came to all my classes. The staff was great with aqua zumba but left me on my own with the other classes.

This is a beautiful resort, clean, friendly, professional and of course the best E-Team!!! All of the E-Team treated us like we were apart of the team and made our experience so much fun. This is a smaller resort than the other Secrets resorts I've been to. The entertainment & food was exceptional!!! I taught 8:30 & 9:30AM 45 min yoga classes, 2-6 guests each class. They really need only one 9AM class. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend Secrets Capri.

The staff at Fit Bodies, Inc is Top Notch. Everything is so convenient and organized. Any time I have a question, it is answered within a reasonable amount of time. Everyone I have dealt with has been so patient and very sweet. The resorts are beautiful and the staff that I have encountered has been so friendly and truly make you feel like family. I'm already planning my next vacation for March or April. Thank you for all that you do Fit Bodies family. You Rock..

I met with Hector on Sunday. He showed me where to teach (in the Gazebo Garden, or if it was raining, in the Desires Bar). I was to get yoga mats (10 mats, from the gym), towels, and some bottled water each day. He told me to gauge the participants as to their abilities, then tailor the class from that (no beginning yoga, etc). Two classes (45 min long), at 8:30 and 9:30. I had anywhere from 0 to 7 participants each day. Several folks attended 2-3 days in a row. On 2 days, I taught in the Desires Bar due to rain. Many of the participants told me how much they enjoyed the class. I had the largest classes at 8:30. For the 9:30 class, there were 3 days when nobody came (the other 3 days, I had 1 or 2).I brought a friend to the resort with me (as my guest) and she was my "assistant" all week, helping me with moving the yoga mats and gathering the towels and water. She also made photos during and after some of the classes. I brought a small portable speaker, because I enjoy having music. As far as the teaching schedule for this resort goes, I might suggest having only one class (maybe at 9am). This may be due to the time of year though, as the resort did not seem to be very full. As for the Fitbodies staff, I was totally prepared for this teaching vacation. There were no glitches, no surprises, everything was just as I was told it would be. This resort is older, showing a little wear, but it is a beautiful place. I totally enjoyed the Entertainment Team here. Hector was a pleasure to meet. This team works hard, and I enjoyed getting to know a few of them. My friend and I went to the evening shows and participated in many of their daily activities. The entire staff at this resort literally bends over backwards to please their guests. The Spa here is wonderful, and the Hydrotherapy Circuit is not to be missed. I would highly recommend a teaching vacation at Secrets Capri and will definitely consider returning.

I taught for the week of May 1st-May 6th, 2017. It was s a hot, humid week! The Entertainment staff really make this resort amazing! When I arrived I was to speak to Luis but he was off that day, they told me to find Hector, he would be around the pool area. My first tip: as you exit the main doors to the pool area, to your right there is a large billboard with all the activities and photos of each entertainment staff member, I found Hector's photo so I knew who to look for. It took some searching as he is all over the place organizing activities! Here's the teaching tips: There are 10 yoga mats behind the desk in the workout room, you are only allowed those 10 mats, there are others in a box in front of the desk but those are for Daniel (the fitness instructor), he has classes scheduled at the same time as the yoga classes. The teaching spot is to the right of the gazebo, in the grass. If it is pouring rain you can move inside the lower lobby, to the far left as you enter from the pool. It took me two trips to and from the fitness center to carry all the mats, towels would work just as well but sometimes that early there were not a ton of towels in the boxes yet. It is 8:30 beginner yoga, 9:30 open level. My classes were pretty small for the first few days but on Thursday more people arrived and it got busier. I had people who were new to yoga, some that didn't speak any English, next time I will be ready with a few directional Spanish words. The only issue I can think of was one day they scheduled a Zumba lesson in the gazebo at 10am, the speaker was about 5 feet from my mat blaring Zumba music...it was just funny, we carried on with a bit more movement in our class to work with the beat! Go if you can! Absolutely beautiful resort and I felt blessed to be able to teach there!!

I had an 8:30 a.m beginner's yoga and 9:30 a.m. yoga. I had between 4-11 participants. (my last class on Saturday at 9:30 had no one.) People who usually came to that class were taking a day trip. Had ages from 23-??? Many couple came to practice. Often it was the first time for the husband. It was a wonderful experience to teach alongside the Caribbean with the music of the ocean and the birds.Go for it! This was a beautiful property. It was the best teaching environment. All levels of yogis come to class, so one must be prepared to teach a multi-level class. We were treated so well by the e staff, along with the serving staff (waiters, grounds cleaner, cleaning people.) We did tip generously.

Just returned from Paradise. Taught 2 yoga classes/day ~ 8:30 & 9:30. 3-12 people attended. From first timers to advanced yogis. Hector and the entertainment crew were helpful and fun to work with. Oscar de Hoya was our favorite waiter. He served us a special dessert on our last night. Enjoyed all of the evening shows. Our room was a suite. Food was fresh and healthy (mostly). Would love to return next winter.

I taught yoga at 8:30 and bootcamp at 9:30. I brought mini speakers with appropriate music for both type classes. you do not have to have music but it makes it nice they do not have music or speakers out when you teach. You are in grassy area by the gazebo which is some what shaded. The Yoga class had from 6 to 12 people and boot camp 2 to 6 due to the heat at this time of year it was too hot for some.Love the resort you can offer another type class beside 2 yoga classes and they seemed to like that option. mats are available in the gym which you have to bring to teaching. I recommend mini speakers and music. Hector and his team are very energetic and helpful but do not attend the class as in some resorts.

Great resort for a yoga instructor. No music needed as the ocean is enough! Schedule is really great as well. Two morning classes and done! We were able to visit Playa deal Carmen and go on an excursion during our time.

I wish I could have stayed an additional week. Thank you for this opportunity. We love Secrets and there other resort lines, very top notch.
