Secrets Bahia Mita Surf & Spa

Just returned from beautiful Secrets Bahia. I taught a 45 minute yoga class every morning at 8am overlooking the beach. This time of year the whales are also there, which makes the experience even more spectacular. Bahia is a beautiful resort...it is big which means there is a lot of walking, but there is also so many restaurants, pools, and little nooks and crannies to explore. It is almost impossible to hit every restaurant if you are there for a week. Food is amazing, as is the service. The E team is great, but honestly once you meet with them you are good to go. Guests bring their own towels to the class, (there are no mats ) They have added 3 brand new pickle ball courts (which are beautiful if you are a fan!) I was there the first week they had a fitbodies Pickle ball coach...it's always fun to meet another instructor. Because of my early class, I could attend his clinic at 9:30. This is my 30th trip with Fit Bodies..thank you for all you do for us and this great experience.

They have 7 bikes and a Bluetooth speaker. My contact, Canelo, was a pleasure to work with and very supportive. The hotel staff, including my gym support person, Nora, handled their responsibilities with consistent excellence. This was my clear favorite location of four teaching vacations so far. It surpassed my expectations and I have already booked another vacation to this same resort.

This hotel was RIDICULOUSLY lavish...the Dreams is connected to Secrets, so that offered many, many restaurant options. There was something to discover on every floor...hidden pools, relaxing lounges, and strong drinks. The service was truly unparalleled...super kind and attentive staff members. The quality of the food was 2nd to none...only had 1 "meh" meal...not bad for a week of dining. I actually loved that I was situated on the "jungle" side.. it was so quiet and I found it soothing to look at the lush greenery. The only "little" complaint is that the beach is rocky and the waves are quite treacherous...perfect for surfing, but not so much for someone who wants to just hang in a tranquil ocean. I would definitely return, but have so many other places I want to discover too....As for the teaching...I only ended up teaching 2 classes during the week. The location for the beach yoga was a bit remote, so not a lot of foot traffic for promotional purposes. 1 taught 1 class on the Sup board, which was a first for me and I definitely preferred teaching on the beach. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. I'm very grateful that have opportunity to teach at such lavish resorts!

I enjoy the ease of the booking experience, the beach, and teaching while also on vacation! The entertainment team was great. It was so awesome to have the E team put your mats and towels out for you. Some Secrets resorts don’t do that and this was a bonus.

I give this resort and this life experience a 5 STAR rating. This was my first teaching experience with FitBodies and everything went so smooth, beyond my expectations of travel during Covid Days into Mexico. Masking regulations were respected at every indoor location on the resort and the staff went out of their way to accommodate everyone. The Entertainment staff, specially "Canelo" made it extra special for me by preparing all the tools ahead of time for my once a day, 10am teaching of Yoga on StandUpSurfBoards on the infinity pool closest to the beach. There was also a regular Yoga instructor who taught yoga daily at 8:30am on the beach. This resort is new, opened in Nov 2021 and the entire facility was very large, but once you were able to find all the stairs within the building and the ones on the outside, you didn't need to wait around for the elevators. Impeccably clean and large scale, yet felt very welcoming and cozy and warm as all the employees were so kind and wonderfully accommodating. The beach front was walkable for long distances and rocky natural shore was easy to cross wearing rubber water shoes provided by the resort by the beach chairs. The gym was amazing too with new equipment and a beautiful cycling studio. The Amstar Transfer to and from the airport were extremely well organizes and smooth. I recommend you allow yourself over 3 hours before your flight, for the return to the airport as you may encounter traffic on the roads on a Sunday. We will definitely return to this resort multiple times. Thank you FitBodies for this amazing opportunity.

My partner and I visited Secrets BM Dec. 12-19, 2021. We used AMSTAR and had no problems with transportation, even riding alone in a brand new car with one of their drivers back to the airport at the end of our trip. I taught one yoga class a day at 10:00am Monday-Saturday. The class was held on a sandy area between the lowest pool and the beach. The entertainment staff brought mats and towels for us all to put on the sand for class. I would get waters for the attendees. Between 3-12 students each day, growing as the week went on because I promoted it to those I met. At this time, most classes and activities were not being promoted (no Sundial online on ipads in rooms (some rooms do not have i pads yet and the Sundial is not on the TV). There is not a Board listing activities near a pool or in the lobby. I am sure they will work this out as the staff and resort are still new and have been working very hard to make this a really special place. Many beach activities were offered free. We signed up to ocean kayak with a guide one day after I taught yoga. The beach is smallish but big enough....we liked to sit on the beach after breakfast and before yoga...then move to either the quiet lowest adult pool facing the ocean or to the adult pool by the DJ or Live Band each afternoon. We loved the food at the Breakfast buffet at Secrets, the food at the adult swim up bar (or ordered from that restaurant by the pool) as they had several types of cerviche, sushi, poki bowls, and everything was great!, out best dinners were at the Dreams buffet. We are very healthy eaters and we like to control portions and how the food is prepared. Our needs were met by this resort in every way. The food was better here than any of the Secrets we have visited so far! We did eat in Portofino and one of the Seafood Restaurants and they were OK too. Nighttime shows were offered every evening and were well attended. Overall, fantastic stay and we will most likely repeat! Thanks again to Fit Bodies for an incredible yoga teaching trip!!! Bring some water shoes that you can beach walk in because to the right (facing the ocean) are tide pools to explore and to your left you can take a long walk and climb around a rocky area to see some incredible homes. We felt safe exploring the beach although we chose not to go off site. There is a local town that many guest go to explore. I heard for $80. a driver would take you there (two couples could split it) and wait for you to shop, eat, explore and bring you back. Maybe we will do that next time. We visited every one of the six pools they have and we enjoyed every one of them!
