Having received a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and having worked 7 years as an RN, I made a career change when fitness became my personal passion. I have worked as a personal trainer for 4 years in a large gym, a very small gym, a private studio, corporate settings, and in people's homes. Additionally, I lead small group training sessions and group bootcamps and resistance training classes.
I have completed 6 marathons and countless shorter races, many of which I have won as overall woman or as #1 in my age division. I was the female winner of last year's Death Valley Marathon! For my personal fitness, I lift weights for at least an hour daily, and I follow a very precise and targeted running program, depending on which race I am training for.
I have also had the opportunity to be a running tour guide of downtown Portland--what fun that experience was.
My nursing background gives me a special awareness of physical needs and risks, which has been invaluable in my experience as a trainer.
