Angeline Duane

I have been teaching group exercise classes since 1998, when I was first certified in Johnny G Spinning.  I continued teaching Spinning for approximately 6 years, when I was hired as the Group Fitness Director at City Health Club in Ithaca, NY.  In that position, I became certified in both Primary Group Exercise and Kickboxing through AFAA.  With those certifications, I began teaching Kickboxing, Step, and Bootcamp classes along with the Spinning classes, all of which I enjoyed very much.   In late 2005, I moved from New York to St. Louis to take a full-time job in my main professional field of social work.  At that time, I decided to take some time off from teaching fitness classes until I could get settled into the new job, as well as the new city.  From 2005 until 2008, I experienced several changes and setbacks (including a very serious accident which hospitalized me and left me with one year of rehabilitation).  During this time, my current certifications lapsed, and it took me some time to get them renewed.  Due to finances and time constraints, I decided to only re-certify in Spinning, since that was one of my favorite specialty areas, but I have recently been considering getting re-certified in Kickboxing and general Group Exercise as well.  In addition to my Spinning re-certification, I took two separate workshops through AFAA on Yoga and Pilates, and I am currently preparing an audition to begin teaching Yoga and Pilates at Club Fitness, where I currently teach Spinning classes.  I have been taking Yoga and Pilates for several years and am very excited to start teaching both formats!  I continue to teach Spinning regularly at Club Fitness and enjoy it very much!
