I began taking aerobics classes in the early 1980s and started teaching classes in 1985. After studying for my ACE certification exam I became interested in human health and went to school to become a RN. My interest in caring for sick people and my love of an active lifestyle led me to realize the importance of the mind-body-spirit connection and how this connection impacts our mental and physical health. My Masters in nursing focused on Mental Health and much of my work involved older persons and exercise, fall prevention, and improving function in chronic disease.
I have taught primarily mixed impact aerobics, with some toning/sculpting, some aqua exercise, and stretching for adults of all ages. I have expanded my horizons into yoga and hope to encourage others to add this healthy way of increasing strength, flexibility and balance into their personal routine.
