I grew up in a small community on a farm. I was phyically active throughout high school. I played various sports such as volleyball, track, basketball, & badminton. I was a figure skater up to Grade 10 which I instructed for a few communities during Grade 11 & 12. I taught skating 2 years after high school. I continued to be active in co-ed competitive volleyball after high school for 7 years. I have done acquacise plus I stayed active by going to the gym. At the age of 27, I decided to become a long distance runner. I have done numerous 5K, 10K, half marathons and marathons over the past 10 years. This past year training hard to qualify for Boston marathon I injuried my heel. I become unhappy when I do not exercise so I decided to change my fitness routine. When I first saw a Zumba video, I was thrilled and excited so I got certified for my Zumba Basic Level 1 within a week. I love how it makes me feel young and sexy again. I enjoy teaching others hoping to impact their life as much as Zumba has changed my life. I practice 4-6 hours a week. I am teaching at 3 clubs a total of 4 classes right now. I am planning to continue on with Level 2 in October. I am back to running however training myself to run barefoot as it can fix my problem with my heel. Fitness is a big part of who I am and will always be. I feel everyone should be active one way or another. My mom has breast cancer and I lost my grandparents at a young age from cancer.
