Karen Ruth

I have worked in the hospitality industry for 30 years. I received my degree in 1985 from Mercyhurst College where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Over the many years of raising my family and working outside the home, I have had the opportunity to participate and learn from many organizations and people. Presently I'm employed at Quail Hollow Country Club as Regional Membership Director. I oversee the membership growth, retention efforts and the marketing of all club events. I also oversee the fitness facility and the pool (including the club's swim team.) I also orchestrate and manage the club's summer kids camp and children's social events. The range from our 4th of July bike parade to our popular fall family movie nights. I am very involved in the community where I live. I am a graduate of Leadership Lake County and presently serve as the Vice President of the Concord-Leroy Chamber of Commerce. I volunteer my time to "Clothe a Child". I coached multiple sports for my children and I'm now a certified High School Soccer Coach and Referee. I am also an accomplished triathlete and adventure racer. I participate in an average of 13 races a year all over the country. These range from sprint triathlon to Ironman distance and 24-hour adventure races. I'm belay certified as I have done rock climbing and ropes for many of my adventure races. I'm very comfortable on a kayak or swimming for miles in the open water. I love to spend hours on my road bike and mountain bike. I look forward to utilizing my many attributes and my ability to develop personal relationships with the people I meet. I have a passion for helping people improve their lives and love to travel and discover new cultures and exchange of ideas.
