I have been teaching fitness since 1988 at various gyms in Fredericton, NB Canada until 1999 when I decided I needed a change from my government job and took a part-time job as the Fitness and Wellness Coordinator at the University of New Brunswick. This became a full-time position that I enjoyed very much and I stayed there until 2005 when I decided to stay home with my first child. Wanting to stay in fitness I then started working for GoodLife Fitness where I was certified in Body Pump, Body Flow, Newbody, CXWorx (core training) and RPM. I decided to go back to school and get my Master's in Adult Education because I was working in teaching English as a second language and wanted educational credentials. I then took a job at a private college pulling all my expertise together as Instructor of Fitness, Wellness and Recreation. I am married with one son, born in 2003. We are currently living in Fredericton, NB, where I was born and went to school, my husband is Swedish. I work at the Multicultural Association teaching English as well as with the Navigators of Canada, a Christian organization. My husband and I have travelled to Thailand, Spain, Malaysia, and Sweden together and I have travelled to Australia and New Zealand. I taught as a fitness instructor at a resort in the Dominican Republic in 2002 and in Jamaica in 2009 as well as the University of West Indies in Trinidad in 2013. In Jamaica I taught Aqua-fit there although I am not a certified aqua-fit instructor. I have taught students to be fitness leaders through my work with Eastern College using the Can-Fit Pro materials and rewrote the fitness leader curriculum to ACSM standards in 2010 as well as the nutrition and wellness curriculum (to fit ACSM standards).
