When I was young (12-19 years old), I have been practicing many disciplines: volleyball, basketball, cross country, track and field, mountain bike. In 1992, I coached a High School basketball team when I was in College. Golden Valley High School, located at Val-d'Or, Quebec, Canada. During my college degree in police technology, I kept on training: weight lifting and jogging and continue to learn about conditional training. In 1999, I became a police officer, and continue to keep up on conditional training and being aware of practicing exercises properly. I oftenly exchanged conversations about that subject with trainers, collegues and friends. I kept on practicing new sports and quit some for others, like: soccer (in the Montreal Police Service team), softball, snowboarding, rollerblading, road bike, spinning, weight training and jogging.
Now, I'm starting my 12th year of service as a police officer and just got a posting with day shift only. I told myself that is a perfect timing to have the possibility to become an instructor in a gym and give time to people who will appreciate. I chosed the discipline of spinning because I do like riding on my bike and on winter time, it's not possible. Also because I did attend spinning classes, and I really liked the feeling to practice it. I did achieve the FIT (Fitness Instructor Training) program in June 2010.
Since then, I applied to do volunteering at YMCA Montreal, located downtown. I did replacements, and had to stop to do so since end of October. I have been operated for my foot but will be right back on track in beginning of January 2011. This explains why I have only 5 hours of experience accumulated since my diploma.
Although, Lori Nudo, who is responsible for the trainers, offered me my own class and I will start to teach beginning of January once a week. As the time will pass, and that my experience will evolve, I want to teach more hours per week.
Since April 2012, I am teaching at the Body Shop Center of St-Jérôme.
In conclusion, conditional training is part of my lifestyle and want to keep up to that direction. I want to help people to help people to maintain training and make it as a priority in their day-to-day schedule.
I can teach class in 2 different languages: English & French.
I understand Spanish: I completed 2 courses as a University degree.
