I have worked in the fitness industry for 12 years as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and nutrition consultant. I also teach a six week, 30 hour Personal Training Certification Course at several local community colleges for W.I.T.S. I have a BS in Nutrition and am pursuing my MS in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. I previously worked as a chef , trained at Washburne Trade School in Chicago, IL. Currently I teach and train at a widely diverse variety of gyms, including hotel spas, corporate fitness centers, and large chain health clubs. Most importantly, I am grateful and feel lucky that my job is motivating and helping all types of people reach their personal goals.
The central theme in my training strategy is individualization. I feel it is most important to personalize plans, sessions, and classes to achieve the best results. I work with my clients to set short and long term goals and then to help them discover what workouts, nutrition plan, and lifestyle modifications will work best for them. The training plan must fit the individual for it to be successful.
I enjoy motivating personal clients and groups by delivering challenging and unique workouts every time. Included are elements of dance, sports specific, functional training that allow for improvements in endurance, strength, flexibility and balance. My professional affiliations and personal explorations assure that my knowledge of current trends and research is always current.
Everyone can find an enjoyable way to stay fit according to their interests. I am passionate about exercise because of its vital role in improving health, preventing disease, and increasing overall energy and want to share these benefits with as many people as possible. I love what I do because I make a difference in people’s daily lives by giving them an hour of stress relief and lightness that is good for the body, mind and spirit.
