Aside from proper nutrition and good genes, I believe regular exercise is the key to optimal health. I'm fortunate to partner with others as a personal trainer, on their journey to a fit lifestyle and I take great pleasure in seeing their progress whether it be weight loss, increased flexibility, overcoming physical challenges, etc. Because I'm outgoing and very social I thrive in a group exercise setting and love instructing & connecting with the participants, many whom I count as good friends. It is my "happy hour", what can compare with doing something GOOD for yourself, often with fun music, and sharing the experience with great people? The only thing I can think of, is to do it in a wonderful resort setting, coupling a vacation with the work I love! I grew up in a sedentary family where fitness was perceived as being for athletes, and I witnessed chronic but preventable disease fluourish in the lives of my loved ones. I vowed to not let that happen to me. I later realized I could be fit and healthy (though I wasn't an "athlete") and decided to pursue certification as it became increasingly important to me and something I was passionate about. I have been certified with AFAA since 2006 in both group and personal training. I love teaching all cardio/strength formats particularly boot camp style workouts. I currently teach boot camp, cardio muscle, step, indoor cycle, & Total Gym GTS/Gravity in addition to personal training in Encinitas, CA. I'm married 23 years and have two sons, 17 & 13. I look forward to working with fitness pro travel soon!
