Growing up fitness was never an important in my life... but now it is. As a child I was overweight. Even after "growing"out of my fat as a teenager I still had battles with my weight. When I left for college I weighed 145 pounds, a few months later my weight had gone up to almost 240. It was at this point that I decided I needed to make some changes in my life. Six months later I was 100 pounds lighter and feeling better than ever. It was after this experience that I became interested in a career in fitness. I began by teaching group exercise classes and not to long after that I started one-on-one training. I then went to work at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Fitness Center in Washington D.C. I managed both the Group Fitness and Personal Training Programs while at the DOJ. While there I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to study different fitness techniques including: yoga, pilates and tai chi. It was through this experience that I realized that I could help others change their lives just as I had changed my own. A majority of my fitness training is yoga based, but I also incorporate other techniques including pilates, tai chi, plyomterics, and weight training
