Melissa McDonald

My name is Melissa L. McDonald. My love for fitness really began 17 years ago, after the birth of my first child ( I now have three), though I was exposed to it at an early age. My mother used to own a fitness center back in the early 80's and I would attend her "Jane Fonda" style workouts. As I began to grow older, I also began to grow outward and became very obese for my height. So, at the age of eighteen, I delivered my first child and realized that I was about sixty pounds overweight. I began attending step aerobic's classes and fell in love with fitness. I have been working out since, almost twenty years, and going strong. 

Over the past seventeen years, as the fads have changed, so have I. I have made myself proficient in teaching any new craze that has passed through and will continue to do so. I love this job and will continue to teach as long as I physically can. I think the best aspect of this job is the change you are able to make in someone's life as they become healthier and more fit. The determination in our students is phenominal and it is this, that keeps me instructing and changing with the times.

I have experience and am current in teaching step aerobics, floor aerobics, boot camp, spinning, weight training, belly dancing, yoga, piyo and cardio kick boxing.
