Nancy Henry was born at Emory Hospital in Atlanta on  June 24,1947. She began ballet classes, camping and spelunking while attending Decatur High School. She graduated from Valdosta State University with a B.S degree in History and Education. She began working for Gwinnett County Board of Education in 1971. She has taught Kindergarten through twelfth  grades. In addition ,she taught Kindergarten teachers at Perimeter  College . While working for G. C. B. of Ed. She earned a Masters of Education degree and a Specialist of Education degree from Georgia State University. She also raised her daughter, while enjoying   yoga and exercise classes. She retired from Gwinnett County in 2006. She was rehired by Gwinnett County to work twenty hours a week developing and teaching a writing program for students grades K through fifth. During this time she was able to spend more time taking yoga and exercise classes. In 2008 she retired to spend time living her dream of becoming a yoga and pilates instructor. She received her 200 hour Kripalu Yoga teachers certification from Discovery Yoga in Saint Augustine Florida in 2008 and Pilates mat beginner and intermediate certification in 2009. She began teaching private lessons (in client’s homes) and group classes at Hammond Park for Johanna Godleski. She has continued to continued her study with Othene Munson of The Yoga Center in Woodstock Georgia , taking a 25 hour course on healing with the Chakras in saint Augustine Fl, and 25 hours on giving assists in Savannah Ga. , and a cert. in Christian yoga in Kennesaw Ga. Currently, she teaches private lessons at various office buildings in the Perimeter  area of Sandy Springs Georgia. She has been accepted to begin her 500 Hour certification program at the Kripalu Yoga Center in Mass. in May of 2011. She plans to continue learning , working and traveling for the foreseeable future.
