I was born in Mexico City but I grew up in Guadalajara with my parents and younger sister. After studying Philosphy for a year I had to interrupt my studies because of a teachers strike. In 1999 I decided to move to Cancun and started working in the tourism industry as a guide. I soon was captured by the ocean and marine life and became a PADI scuba instructor. I worked in diving for a few years and realized my calling was teaching.  I alternated teaching diving to tourists and teaching English to locals. I then went back to college to obtain a “Teaching English as a Foreign Language Diploma”. I worked in Human Resources  for a dolphinarium and later on for a Resort Group developing employee training programs that included English classes and Service and Quality standards.  I met my husband Joao, a Spa Director, when the resort group I worked for sent me to St. Maarten to do some training. He was transferred to Cancun  in 2005 and we got married in 2009.

In 2007 I decided to fully commit to yoga which had been a personal practice for some years. Yoga has changed my view of the world and it has become a lifestyle to me.  I enjoy the opportunity to teach yoga at a resort because that gives me the chance to get beginners to approach yoga in an easy friendly way and fall in love with it.
