I have always been active - my whole life - I played softball, tennis, golf and swimming at early ages. When I reached high school I focused on being in competitive varsity tennis - and being a team captain. College brought me to another four years of team tennis - and being captain again...
Group fitness and energy is my forte!! Running and doing off season fitness with my fellow players and running mates was and IS what keeps me motivated and creative. After college, I continued being a "gym rat" always joining another health club as I moved around the southeastern US.
After having a child in 2003, I wanted to work part time... After constantly bugging my other stay at home moms about going to the gym and walking and running together - and finally working out with a trainer, I thought I should just do this myself. I am very good at motivating others and starting activities and events - most of all - I LOVE it!!
So I received my NASM certification in 2008 and started working out of my home and off site in others' homes/offices. My small group classes and clients were amazing - I loved it but knew that was just a stepping stone as to what I really wanted to do. My real goal is to get the average couch potato up and having fun with group fitness... I wanted a bigger stage - so I joined a small, local gym and tried small classes to wet my appetite and gain some gym experience... And eventually, I wound up at LA Fitness teaching large groups and learning the ropes of a big gym.
Coming from a hospitality background AND being a gym rat on the other side, I know what good service is all about. I am definitely a people person and I do admit, they enjoy my classes - we have a good time - I have a sense of humor and humility participants appreciate. Bringing energy to a group of people - that is my "salsa"!!!
I will love to be part of your team!!
