Virginia grew up in Rhode Island with a background in dance and gymnastics. She began cheerleading late in high school and all through college. After a string of injuries, she had began practicing yoga at the beach in 2004. Through regular practice she learned to listen to her body and care for her injuries. She is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Elementary Education and Theater. She graduated in May 2007.
After graduating, she began working for the airline industry. Feeling like a piece of her life was missing, she followed her intuition and flew out to India for a very special teacher training course. She took a 230-hour intensive teacher training with the Shakti Spirit Yoga Institute during during February and March of this year at the beautiful Satsanga Retreat in Goa, India. Through this training she earned her certificate in asana, movement related anatomy and physiology, Yogic philosophy, and Ayurvedic philosophy. She is a certified yoga istructor under the Yoga Alliance and is continuing her education in yoga through classes and workshops. She currently lives in Manhattan, NY.
