I have had the privilege of coaching individuals from all walks of life - young to old, injured to healthy, weak to strong, immobile to athletic, inexperienced to veteran, diseased to disease-free - and have always taken all factors into consideration when prescribing training. We all have the same physiology ideally, however we are not all functioning the same. As a scientist and researcher initially in my career, my goal has always been to understand and recognize the contributing and limiting factors and use that information to bring the individual closer to the functional ideal while helping them achieve their personal goals.
