Growing up, I was always overweight. I knew nothing about healthy eating and the only physical activity I got was in my Advanced Ballet class in high school. At the age of 17, just before my high school graduation, I fractured my foot at work. Being the stubborn kid that I was, I didn't wear my boot or use my crutches nearly as often as I should have. My foot never healed properly and the doctor told me I would never do ballet again. I gave up after that. I stopped doing any form of exercise and my eating habits got worse and worse until I reached 270 pounds and a size 26 pant.
It wasn't until I moved out on my own and started taking care of myself that I decided to do something about my health and fitness level. I started trying to eat healthier and I started doing some cardio and ended up getting a job at Curves, the women's gym. It was a lot of hard work, but I eventually made it to 145 pounds and a size 8 pant. I was feeling great. I then quit my job at Curves for a higher paying desk job. that was a mistake.
I stopped working out again and my eating habits slipped. I gained about 30 pounds before I knew what happened. My weight yoyo'd and nothing seemed to get me back in shape. That is, until I found pilates.
I took my very first pilates class at SWERVE and fell in love after seeing how quickly my body changed for the better. I finally got down to 120 pounds and kept it that way.
I immediately threw herself into the study and has since become a certified Pilates Instructor, combining my extensive experience as a dancer with youthful energy and a passion for fitness.
I am trained in both the classical and west coast styles of pilates.
I have since received my Personal Trainer certification through the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and National Council on Strength & Fitness (NCSF) and has completed the Equinox Fitness Training Institute (EFTI) to improve my programming abilities and offer the absolute best training for my clients.
I believe exercise should be fun and tailors my workouts to match my client’s personality and needs.
