- Amy Ashmore
Dr. Ashmore is the leading authority in assisted stretching biomechanics. She holds a doctorate in Kinesiology from the University of Texas at Austin. She is the founder and former President of Applied Fitness, Inc. - a Florida based personal training services and management corporation. Currently, she is the President of Amy Ashmore Kinetics, LLC - a Nevada based fitness services and educational corporation. She also holds an adjunct faculty position at the Community College of Southern Nevada (CCSN). Dr. Ashmore is a fitness instructor, author, and educator.
Dr. Ashmore has designed and implemented conditioning, strength, and flexibility programs for professional athletes, adults, adolescents, and children. Her work with professional athletes earned her the 3rd Place award in the Met-Rx Corporation's ""World's Best Trainer 1999"". Her work has been published by IDEA Health & Fitness Source, American Fitness, and IDEA Fitness Journal.
Dr. Ashmore developed Biomechanics of Assisted Stretching (BAS) based on her doctoral dissertation work in the area of force. She designed BAS to teach fitness professionals how to maximize the benefits and safety of stretching for their clients. Biomechanics of Assisted Stretching was a featured presentation at the IDEA World Fitness Convention 2004 and is scheduled for IDEA World Fitness Convention 2005. BAS is both a NSCA Certifying Agency and International Sports Sciences (ISSA) approved CEU course.
