C. Elizabeth Anastasopoulos

One year after the birth of my first child, I still weighed 185 pounds.  I didn’t think much of the excess weight, as many of us don’t, because I was too busy thinking about my family and too busy with my job as a high school English teacher.  Then one day, my husband offered to buy me a beeper—to warn people that I was backing up. While said in jest, it was the impetus I needed to get my life, my health, back on track.  I changed my eating habits, started hitting the gym, and within one year lost 40 pounds;

I’ve never looked back.  Even through my second pregnancy with twins, I continued to exercise and eat well, habits I attribute to their healthy birth and to my quick return to pre-pregnancy size.

Today, I am even more passionate about exercise and “clean eating,” as I have watched my healthy habits continue to transform my body, my attitude, and my life.  Because I wanted to share my passion with others, I decided to become a certified personal trainer.  I feel I have finally found my niche, as through personal training, I am able to combine my two greatest loves: educating/helping others and exercising.

My fitness education did not stop once I passed my certification exam, however.  I make it a point daily to read a new fitness article, try a new clean eating recipe, or try out a new exercise.  I use multiple modes of work-out equiptment, ranging from BOSU, weighted bars, core boards, stability balls, and TRX; I also use multiple modes of exercise techniques, from boot camp style training to yoga.  Even now, I have entered my first figure competition in order to learn how to train others interested in this sport.

Basically, I want to be the very best personal trainer I can be and therefore, I do all I can to learn about many styles of training so that I can have that much more to offer to my clients.
