Valerie Eidson

My love for fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle began at a young age as I was always involved in a plethora of sports.  As I grew older I began to focus solely on competitive cheerleading and dance.  I would spend my summers instructing cheerleading and dance camps and choreographing routines for various teams in the area.  I went on to Cheer competitively in college at East Tennessee State (ETSU) and began taking an interest in distance running.  After graduating from ETSU with a bachelor's in digital media, I moved to NYC to get a graduate degree in fashion design.  My love for fitness grew even further during my stay in NYC and I began to incorporate strength training into my cardio heavy workouts.  After two years in NYC I was done with the big city life, and wanted to be closer to my family.  I re-located to Cincinnati, OH in 2007 and took a job at the Cincinnati Action Center, a fitness facility for kids.  I instructed fitness, dance, and cheerleading classes for kids aged 2 to 18.  After one year at the Action Center the facility closed, and I was asked by one of the owners, Fran Santangelo, if I would like to get my Personal Training Certification and work with her at her new fitness studio, BeneFIT.  I excitedly accepted the opportunity and became a Certified Trainer in November of 2008.  Since getting my certification I have been training and teaching group fitness classes six days a week.  In December I received a certification to work with people with Parkinsons Disease, and have really enjoyed the therapy side of training.  Also since moving to Cincinnati I have completed a half and full marathon, and I am excited about what the future holds for me as a fitness professional.
