After watching my mother use Yoga to heal a minor knee injury and then proceed to out-ski me the next year, I knew there was something pretty amazing about it. That was 15 years ago. I began teaching for a non-profit organization called CLASS in Salina, Kansas and then went on to start my own studio. I teach a classical style Hatha Yoga, building from the basic foundations of each pose and then flowing them together with the breath in short vinyasas. My training comes from Shoshoni, a Hindu and Buddhist Ashram nestled in the mountains above Boulder, Colorado. There I studied meditation and pranayama, as well as the asanas and teaching practices. I have also done workshops and classes with Doug Keller, Shiva Rea, Rod Stryker, and Judith Hanson Lasater. Being a pioneer of Yoga in the rural midwest brought me a clientele of beginner yogis, so that is my specialty - taking the new, the fresh, and the timid, and helping them to relax, learn, stretch, grow and become comfortable both in the class and in their own bodies. I love to travel and love to teach Yoga and look forward to the opportunity of combining the two passions and be able to teach Yoga in exotic, beautiful locals.
