I was first introduced to bikram's yoga about 10 years ago, and randomly supplemented my regular workouts with yoga. i found prana a few years later, however i didnt practice on a regular basis until about 5 years ago.  i had injured myself running, and after going to 2 different physical therapists and an orthopedic surgeon i found my way back to yoga, and prana was where i landed. i practiced yoga about 3-4 times per week, and i eventually fixed my own injury with breathing, dedication, and self-awareness. i went back to the physical therapist and told him what i had been doing.  he told me that i would have to practice yoga 1-2 times per week for the rest of my "running life" if i wanted to continue to run. what i found was that i really wanted to practice yoga...for the rest of my life. while i ended up fixing, and preventing further sports related injuries, i also found pure enjoyment from the spiritual part of my practice .
two years ago i suddenly lost my mother and found that i needed my practice so much more mentally than i did physically. the teachers at prana helped me through this challenging time more than they will ever know. this was the only place that i could both escape and find my way at the same time. i needed to get lost in my practice, to find myself, and that is exactly what i did. i completed my teacher training at prana in april 2009 - i am honored to be teaching at such a wonderful studio and i am embracing what i learn from prana and the teachers every day.
