I have been a lifelong fitness enthusiast. As a child, I competed in gymnastics in my gym's Junior Olympic training program. I was a cheerleader throughout junior high, but during high school, I changed direction and begin to focus on dance. I became a member and later a Lieutenant of our varsity drillteam, The Nationally Award-Winning Southern Belles. During this time, I continued to develop my skills through dance classes five days a week. In college, I chose to concentrate on my academics while at Baylor University, but I continued to take classes in yoga and dance. After moving to The Woodlands, Texas, I immediately joined the YMCA where I became a "regular" and took many group fitness classes each week. I was approached by several instructors and asked if I would be interested in training. I chose to pursue certifications through Les Mills and became certified in BODYCOMBAT, a martial-arts based cardio class and in BODYFLOW, a yoga and pilates group class. I later obtained certifications in CXWORX, functional core strength training and SPRINT, a HIIT cycle class. I currently teach 7 classes a week. I joined FitBodies to gain the opportunity to travel and meet people through group fitness.
