After the birth of my second child, I became more aware of the need to be more physically active. I started by going to the gym several days a week and soon I was choosing healthier foods. Then, I took a yoga class. I absolutely loved it right away! I went regularly several times a week and picked it up quickly. I also saw an increase in my strength and flexibility within only a few weeks. After some time, I began substitute teaching when needed, and eventually was able to start teaching some of my own classes. I also took a position teaching yoga at another fitness facility. I was really enjoying teaching several classes a week at a few different locations. However, due to budget cuts, one of the facilities closed and I lost several of my classes. By that time, a fellow instructor (and my original teacher) and I had begun thinking about opening our own yoga studio. We got serious and within a couple of months, Agape Yoga was opened. Now, I teach five days a week at the studio and one class a week at the YMCA. I am loving owning my own studio, scheduling my own classes, and just really making the classes my own. I love developing relationships with my students and look forward to teaching for a long time.
