During my junior year of high school I took an aerobics class for P.E. credit. It was the first time that I realized I could be in shape, healthy, and excel in fitness. I loved it. I went on to get my Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology with a Minor in Health and Wellness. I also received my certification with ACE. I taught a floor aerobics class twice a day for Washington State University's P.E. department, usually with 50-60 students. From there I taught a spin class in Spokane and did a little bit of personal training. I took a 5 year break during my time as the Northwest Director for Samaritan's Purse, but then jumped back into teaching when my husband and I decided to start a family. I have been teaching ever since, widening my experience as a cycling instructor, and adding water aerobics, circuit, triathlon and boot camp. My classes at Allstar Fitness are popular, even though some are at 5:30am! I love the members and watching them enjoy the classes - they work hard and are getting stronger and building endurance every day. I have a wide variety of members in my classes, from ages 16 to 87! I currently hold a certification with AFAA as a Group Exercise
Instructor, and have received CEC's with Bally Total Fitness Cycling
courses, and several with Exercise Incorporated, from senior strength
training to high intensity interval training. I desire to push everyone to go to a level they never thought possible, but always at their own pace so they never feel intimidated in the group exercise atmosphere. My goal is for everyone who comes to my classes to realize they can be fit and healthy, just as I realized the same for myself in high school. Currently, I teach 8 classes a week at Allstar Fitness in Tacoma, WA. I have been married to Brandon for 9 years and we have two girls, ages 2 and 5, Sophie and Alli.
