I started my fitness journey when I was 26 years of age and 75 pounds overweight. My step instructor at the time approached me and asked if I would be interested in becoming a step instructor because I never missed a class, had good rhythm and the right personality. That was the beginning of my fitness career.
Since my meager beginnings teaching step, I have since made fitness a career. Earlier in my career, I had to have a full-time job because I was a single mother of two children. Teaching classes for me was a way to get my workouts in and get paid to do something I loved. About 6 years ago, I was able to give up the office job and commit my time and energy into what I sincerely have a passion for, helping people obtain their fitness goals and living healthier lifestyles.
I have many certifications in personal training, group exercise, Zumba, cycling, Group power, R.I.P.P.E.D, Pilates and am training in Yoga. I have taken several workshop for CEC's, but mainly to stay on top of what's most current in this ever evolving industry. Not only that, but I set goals for myself to learn something new or challenge myself by getting certified in new things to keep motivated to continue to inspire healthier lifestyles to the people I teach.
I currently divide my time between the fitness facility that I work at and I have started a new endeavor of running a corporate fitness/wellness program. Besides that, I am an actress with a local theatre group, lead singer in a cover band and a licensed cosmetologist. Most importantly, I'm a wife and a mother which are the best two jobs that I have.
What I offer is not only the love for fitness, but many years and experience to my classes. I bring with me my weight loss journey and help inspire people to do the same by being a walking example that with hard work and commitment they can accomplish their goals.
