My love for yoga began as a small child watching my mom practice in our living room from Richard Hittleman's 1969 book, Yoga (28 Day Exercise Plan).  In March 2011, I completed my RYT-200 Hatha Yoga Certification from the Himalayan Yoga and Meditation Center in Palatine, IL, under the spiritual guidance of Swami Veda Bharati.  

My goal is to simply share the benefits of mindful movement:  Increased strength; flexibility; stress-relief; better overall health; and a deeper connection of mind, body, and spirit. My understanding of these proven benefits of formal mindfulness practices also allows me to better assist survivors of trauma in my role as Adolescent Counselor for a Rape Crisis Center.  I enjoy studying and drawing from various styles of yoga in order to create a practice that is strengthening and empowering, yet slow moving and mindful.  My approach is all about balance...both on and off the mat.
