Wilda Souffrant

In 1999, my eldest sister was injured due to medical malpractice resulting in a profound brain injury. In 2001, Medicare and Medicaid no longer would provide her with therapy as she had in their words “plateued,” meaning she was not benefiting from therapy nor did she exhibit signs of a meaningful recovery.

My family took her home and in 2003, after completing a number of courses focusing on brain injury, nutrition and wellness at the Institute for the Achievement of Human Potential (www.iahp.org) in Wyndmoor Pennsylvania, our family began a home based therapy program to help my eldest sister. The results were dramatic, she lost forty pounds, her recovery time from illness was significantly reduced, she has not been hospitalized in seven years, she also began to lift and turn her head. My journey into wellness began as I saw that most of my sister’s health victories could be attributed to her diet and mobility program now my journey continues as I embark on a career as a Registered Dietitian.

Since 2005, I have served as a Group Fitness Instructor and in 2009 became a  Personal Fitness Coach.  I create exercise progression routines, motivate exercise participants, and educate clients about fitness and nutrition.  I have my bachelor's degree in nutrition and I am currently pursing my master's in Exercise Science Master.
