Iyengar style yoga for Beginner/Intermediate levels
I was first introduced to yoga in 1999. Very quickly I have developed a true appreciation for its long reaching benefits. Since then I have been expanding my knowledge through master classes and workshops led by many incredible teachers including Baron Baptist, Coeli Marsh, Alison West, Rodney Yee, Simon Park, Doug and David Swenson, John Schumacher, Joan White, Manouso Manos and others.

I taught my first yoga class in 2002 at a Sport and Health club in Virginia. In 2006 I took my first Iyengar class and instantly felt at home with the alignment based practice, which I continue with Anne Wutchiett and John Schumacher at the Unity Woods Yoga Center in the DC area. The Iyengar style has truly inspired me, gave me clarity and focus and taught me patience and perseverance on and off the mat. While continuing my Iyengar practice, I pursued a Yoga Alliance certification and became a 200 hour RYT yoga instructor in 2009.
As a teacher and student of yoga, I believe that our bodies have the potential of being our best teachers as long as we pay attention. My goal as a yoga teacher is to help students reconnect with their bodies on a deeper level and help them create a sense of equanimity and joy in every day life.

Off the yoga mat, I work for a busy telecommunications company in Virginia and hold a Masters Degree in International Communication and BAs in English and psychology. I also love to garden, cook, bake and travel.
