Rose Nichols

 Having lost 100 pounds, Rose Nichols is excited to assist others attain their health objectives, whether it’s achieving weight loss or living an active fit existence.  Rose has been involved in the Fitness Industry since completing the YMCA of the USA AIT (Aerobic Instructor Training) in April 2009.  By completing this powerful training, Rose received her certifications in Cardio & Step Aerobics Instruction, Foundations of Group Fitness and YMCA Healthy Lifestyle Principles.  Rose has also completed the requirements for CPR/AED – Adult and CPR – Child and Infant through the American Red Cross.

After completing AIT, Rose was chosen for an apprenticeship with Deanna Pimm at the Westside Branch of the YMCA of Greater Rochester.  Under Deanna’s guidance, Rose further developed her instructor experience both in Step Aerobics and Body Conditioning throughout summer 2009.  After successfully completing her apprenticeship, she immediately was introduced to the Healthy Living Program and offered a position as a Lifestyle Coach and Fitness Instructor.  The Healthy Living program (a program of the Center for Community Health at the University of Rochester Medical Center) engages women and men in healthy living and fitness classes at neighborhood churches and community centers.

In 2010, Rose became a Group Fitness Instructor at the Southwest Branch of the YMCA of Greater Rochester and a Lifestyle Coach for the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program.  This program, which is a part of the CDC-led National Diabetes Prevention Program, assists those at high risk adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles and reduce their chances of developing Type 2 Diabetes.

Also in 2010, Rose connected with Victory Fitness Center as a Group Fitness Instructor substitute to offer Hi/Lo and Step classes that are enjoyable and effective workouts when other fitness instructors are unavailable.  In 2011, Rose also became a recreational novice runner and finished her first 5K race September 4, 2010 (celebrating her 11th wedding anniversary)!!

Rose brings her passion and excitement for an energetic, healthy lifestyle to each and every class!!
