Molly Alawode is a Level 1 and Level 2 certified Hoopnotica® instructor. Molly discovered Hoopnotica® through her unique job with Dr. Oz's HealthCorps® (www.healthcorps.org). HealthCorps®, a proactive health movement founded by heart surgeon and Emmy Award-winning talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz, is fighting the obesity and mental resilience crises by empowering American students and their families to become health agents of change for their communities. A 501 (C) 3, HealthCorps® is helping the country reach the tipping point towards wellness now and for the future of our children. While most employers facilitate mind-numbingly boring professional development sessions, HealthCorps® organized a fun training with its partner in health, Hoopnotica®. Molly instantly knew that hooping would provide her high school students in Wilmington, Delaware with unprecedented access to exercise. Her students do not typically work out because 1) they live in unsafe neighborhoods or, 2) they cannot afford gym memberships. Thanks to her in-school and after-school Hoopnotica® clubs, students are empowered to take control of their personal fitness. Molly passes that spirit of empowerment on to her summer classes at Brickhouse Cardio Club in Highland, MD. A native of Columbia, MD, she is pleased to reconnect to her community through fitness. She encourages people of all levels and age groups to give Hoopnotica® a whirl!
