My love for physical fitness started very early in life. My family was always active - running, biking, hiking, and being involved with group sports. Soccer was my sport of choice; I played from the elementary school level all the way up to the college level. With running being a key element of soccer, I took it up as my new hobby. I remember as early as middle school going on daily runs, either by myself or with my Dad. Today I still go running often, but now it is with my husband and my two year old daughter in her jogging stroller.

In addition to running for physical fitness, I enjoy my own workouts at my home gym or at the gym I work at. On top of what was required of me while I was involved in soccer, in high school I also began to do my own weekly workouts and I have been consistently doing them every since. My love for physical fitness and being at the gym opened up an opportunity for me to begin teaching group fitness.

I took on a job at the gym working in the daycare when I was 18 years old and this gave me the priviledge to receive a free gym membership, which I took full advantage of. After working there for a while and being involved in the gym I got to know the fitness instructors very well. I was offered an opportunity at age 22 to become certified and begin teaching group fitness. I started off by teaching group cycling and Pilates, and was also offered opportunity to teach kickboxing, step, core class, bootcamp, Yoga, PowerFlex, and circuit classes. I have enjoyed the experience I have received from the training I have done to teach various classes. I keep my Group Fitness Certification current through FiTOUR. I have also taken workshop and certification classes through the YMCA.

Fitness and exercise will always be a part of my life. I enjoy sharing my passion with others.
