My name is Monica Ajlouny, I am from Detroit Michigan and I have been teaching group fitness classes for 13 years. I began my fitness career at Bally Total Fitness in 2002. I used to ride my bike to work all the time, wake up early to do an aerobics tapes and rollerblade anywhere I could.. even through the drive through in my hometown. I was working at a restaurant and all my co workers would always tell me how fit I looked and how they would wake up and workout because I insired them. Eventually my co workers and friends would come to my house and do tapes with me or I would just try my best and put some music on and get my "Jane Fonda" on with my friends in my living room. One of my friends took me as a guest to Bally's and I did a step aerobic class with "Tiffany". She must of saw something in me because at the end of that class she came to me and told me I was a natural and I should teach. She introduced me to her boss, spent some time with me on cheoreography and told me about how to get my certification through AFAA. So I did all that, was hired at Bally's worked there for 8 years and then moved away to my current location in the DC area. I was hired at a Golds Fym and I love it there. At Bally's I taught so many formats. Johnny G spinning, water aerobics, yoga, kickboxing, step, hi-low, powerflex, bosu, abs & glutes and resist-a-ball. Now at Golds I teach Total Body Conditioning, Les Mills Body Combat, RIPPED and AB LAB. I focused on step aerobics and Aqua for the first 8 years and now I am loving teaching all different Formats. It's funky, fun, instense and challenging. There are anaerobic intervals in the middle of the workout and the music is slamming, groovy and specialized with sound effects to increase the power and intensity of the workout.
