Natalie Dunn

I just finished up my certification at Vancouver's School of Body Work and Massage with Daniel Clement. I've currently been teaching myself yoga for the last couple of years and wanted to share my love of yoga with others and bring people more comfort in their lives. I love the philosophies of being a student for life and bringing your own personal life experience to yoga. At Vancouver School of Bodywork and Massage I was trained under the "Open Source Yoga" philosophy--all paths that lead to deeper understanding are honorable and as consciousness is expanding and evolving our path is open to continuing inquiry and refinement. This being said we had a well rounded education studying Yin, Vijnana, Vinyasa flow, Restorative and Mantra Yoga. This philosophy has allowed me to take different things that work for me and adapt them into an accessible, fun, safe, and honorable class. As a teacher it is important for me to continually be practicing and learning myself.

I first came to yoga as a way to get into my body in preparation to acting. I attended Vancouver Film School from 2009-2010 and it’s during that year I practiced yoga one hour every morning five days a week and was altered. I have first handily experienced the remarkable transformation yoga can have on a mind, body, and spirit. I believe I will always be a student of yoga continuously learning more about myself and my practice. My hope is by bringing my unique voice to my classes I will guide others to a deeper connection with themselves and others.  My favorite thing about teaching yoga is putting together classes. I find it to be a very creative process for me and think of each class as a piece of art. I’m sure it’s the theatrics in me but I feel that is one of the unique things I bring to my classes.  My hope is that each class feel like a specially crafted gift.

Yoga continues to transform me into a more mindful and loving person bringing me closer to my true self. I wish only to be part of a powerful movement toward consciousness.
