I graduated from Spalding College in Louisville, KY with a BSN in nursing in 1975 and worked various medical surgical settings until I obtained a Master's in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN in 1980. I then worked as a staff nurse in psychiatric hospitals until 2000 when I became a Adult Psychiatric Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. After doing this for ten years I decided to do something fun and became a Zumba instructor as I love to dance and believe in the numerous health benefits of exercise.
