I have been a dancer for over 20 years, taught classes for all ages, and developed dance programming for schools and dance studios. Furthermore, I have choreographed for winning pageant contestants and special events. My love of dance inspired my transition into the fitness industry. As a dancer and instructor, I learned the importance of cross training to help me perform at a higher and more intense level while preventing injury at the same time. While delving into the fitness industry and teaching a variety of classes, I discovered a love for endurance sports and have participated in several events including but not limited to the Nike Womens Marathon, Bike4Braden, Whistlestop Duathlon, and Jubilee Race for Life. I discovered ZUMBA Fitness when a fellow fitness instructor encouraged me to take a class and later to be licensed. ZUMBA Fitness seamlessly combines my two loves -- dance and fitness -- into a fun and energetic program, which is as fun to teach as it is to participate. Once I decided to teach fitness on a full time basis, I found I needed something to help calm my mind and maintain my flexibility. Yoga fills that need. I found the benefits of Yoga went far beyond my expectations, so I chose to get certified. My Yoga classes to be a perfect compliment to my higher energy group fitness classes. My students and clients enjoy the change of pace, and I have noticed a lower rate of injury and burn out. I learn something new everyday. The three things I love most about my job are the people I meet, the joy of movement, and the opportunity to constantly grow and learn!
