I am a popular, high energy certified fitness instructor with more than 20 years experience.

 

I am experienced in a wide variety of innovative classes such as:

·         Fusion Flow (yoga, pilates flow to music)

·         Power yoga

·         Vinyasa Yoga

·         Iron Yoga (with weights)

·         Cardio Dance

·         Cycling/Spin

·         Strength & Stretch

·         Total Body Conditioning

 

My participants have ranged in age from 17 to over 70 years old…in the same class!

 

I enjoy using equipment and I am trained in the use of slides, steps, bands, balls, gliders, foam rollers, and free weights.

 

My style involves simple to moderately challenging choreography at multiple levels of intensity. I am a reliable, enthusiastic, energetic instructor with very popular, well-attended classes. I have developed a substantial following everywhere I’ve taught. I personalize the experience in group sessions so participants feel successful regardless of ability. I emphasize functionality in both the training and information that I provide.

 

I love classes with a diversity of participants and abilities and like to create a positive, community atmosphere while developing a personal rapport with the participants.

 

Keeping up to date on theory and techniques is a priority for me and I have attended a wide variety of workshops including Interval/Anaerobic Training, Nutrition, Power Lifting, Slide, Power Step, Choreography, Third Age, Pregnancy, Contraindicated exercises, and many more. My total hours spent in training workshops exceeds 200 hours.

 

Outside of my life as a fitness instructor, I enjoy running, cycling, triathlons, kayaking and hiking. I love nature. I also have a PhD in Ecology and work for Parks Canada.
