- I have taught various group fitness classes since 1992. I began teaching with Body & Soul, an organization similar to Jazzercise, where I taught preselected and choreographed classes such as weights, aerobics and stretching. I would attend 2 workshops per year to learn new session choreography and update any CECs. I went on to teach at gyms in 1993, teaching aerobics, weights and step at World Gym in Germantown, Maryland. I moved to San Diego California in 1998 and began teaching step and aerobics at 24-Hour fitness in Oceanside, California. Since 1999, I worked full-time for Sempra Energy, where I taught 2 classes per week during the lunch hour for the Corporate Wellness Program. I currently teach Yoga and Body Sculpting classes. I have taught some sort of group fitness class steadily since 1992. I am now a Personal Trainer as well working out of my own gym with over 50 monthly clients. I love teaching and I love people. I adapt "as I go" to the class I have each day. i.e., some days I have many more beginners than experienced, so I will show options and try to adapt to every need. While I am attentive to body position and proper alginment, I also love the "have fun" attitude and encourage my students to do their very best and to have fun. I'm now teaching zumba-like aerobic classes, boot camps and do personal training out of my own studio. I love what I do and enjoy helping people realize their fitness and weight loss goals. I've added certifications throughout the years as I needed CEC's to better accommodate my growing and diverse clientele.
