Terri Shulman

At age 13 I was a size 13/14.  I didn't like the way I felt or the way I looked.  I began to exercise on my own at home.  At 16 my parents allowed me to join Bally's.  It was there that I was introduced to Group Fitness and I was hooked. At age 18 I began teaching at Bally's and Living Well Lady.  In college, I majored in Exercise Physiology and I taught Group Fitness for The Pennsylvania State University's Rec Department.  Upon graduation in 1993 I was employed by Warminster Hospital in their Wellness Facility where I specialized in Cardiac Rehab.  I began teaching Aqua Aerobics. I continued to teach Group Fitness at the local YMCA and various gyms in the area. After leaving Warminster Hospital, I opened Commit to Be Fit, Personal Training Programs.  I was a traveling PT and trained my clients at their homes.1997 got married and moved to Florida!  I sold my business in Pennsylvania to stay at home with my son and taught Group Fitness at the local gyms.  In 2000 I was asked to create a Group Fitness Program for The Lord's Gym, Clermont, FL.  Here I was given the opportunity to develop and implement a strong Group Fitness program for over 2,000 members.  This program included, Yoga, Pilates, Cycling, Kickboxing, Boot Camp, Low Impact, Kid's Fitness and Chair Aerobics.  I completed Certifications in all the above programs. In 2005 I was offered the opportunity to teach Group Fitness at The National Training Center.  I was hired as a sub for all classes, but was given the opportunity to teach Yoga, Pilates and Strength Training on a permanent basis. In 2007 I was offered the Group Fitness Coordinator position.  Still current in this position, I continue to teach Yoga and Cycling on a daily basis while I oversee a successful program with over 60 classes a week.  Our Group Fitness Program has evolved into a cross training program to meet the needs of all fitness levels and styles.  My strengths are my creativity and desire to help all fitness levels and styles find their place in exercise.  I strive to create safe, fun and effective exercise programs that result in success. The wellness field is ever growing and changing.  I attend certifications and workshops throughout the year.  I feel it is important to stay on top of the latest and greatest trends as well as to be educated on the current studies in Exercise Physiology.I am currently enrolled in a 500 hour Power Yoga Teacher Training.  Yoga is my passion and way of life.  As a CYT (Certified Yoga Instructor) I am blessed with the opportunity to lead people in group classes as well as Private Yoga sessions.  Wellness is not just my occupation, it is my way of life.  I am called to help people find wellness in their lives through exercise and health choices.
