As a former college athlete, fitness has always been an integral part of my life. After I graduated from college with a degree in Marketing Communications, I realized that the field of fitness was my true calling. Since then, I have worked in various aspects of a full-service gym in Columbus, Mississippi. I am currently the Director of Training for the facility; I handle all personal training programs, clients and oversee all of the personal trainers at our facility. I also teach a variety of Group Exercise classes including Indoor Cycling, Indoor Boot Camp, BOSU, Interval Training, Strength, Vertical and Mat Pilates and Core Classes. I am a certified Personal Trainer (through AFAA) and train one-on-one and small groups. I am certified on the TRX Suspension Trainer, certified to instruct Outdoor Boot Camps and am familiar with many tools including BOSU, Gliders, agility and plyometric equipment, heavy ropes and kettlebells. I am also certified by the Gray Institute in their 3DMAPS program and hold their certification in Applied Functional Science. I have experience training and instructing special populations including older individuals, individuals with diabetes, dystrophy and those going through injury rehabilitation. I also have experience in kids fitness and am the co-founder of a fitness program for early learners called Little Movers and Learners. Finally, I have trained several marathon and half marathon participants and have personal experience with long distance running. I recently completed my masters degree in Kinesiology at the University of Texas at Tyler. I feel confident in my ability to effectively teach and interact with various types of people and believe that fitness should be a fun and exciting experience!!
