Dr.
Liz Orchard is a board-certified Naturopathic doctor and mother.
She loves her work and uses the principles of Naturopathic medicine as
her guides: prevent disease, identify and remove the cause of disease,
treat the whole person, trust in the healing powers of nature, and
educate patients about wellness. She follows an integrated approach to
medicine, combining natural medicines with western diagnostics and
laboratory interpretation. Appreciating the fact that we are all
unique, Dr. Orchard spends time listening to her patients to assure that
her recommendations are as diverse as each person who comes to see her.
A skillful blend of nutritious food, vitamins, herbs, homeopathy,
meditation, Reiki, and counseling are all part of the support she
offers. While she sees people of all ages with any range of health
concerns, she specializes in holistic health for women, from fertility
to menopause. She helps mothers with post-partum concerns such as
fatigue, stress, weight management, or depression, and can help prevent
these issues before they occur by starting during pregnancy. She also
enjoys working with families, helping parents and children find ways to
be as healthy as possible, naturally.
Dr. Orchard earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine, with honors, from
the oldest fully accredited Naturopathic medical school, National College of Natural Medicine (www.ncnm.edu)
in Portland, Oregon. During the five years of Naturopathic medical
training, she also studied various forms of mind-body medicine,
including Vipassana meditation, Tai Ji, Qi Gong, and Yoga. Dr. Orchard
was the resident ND at an integrative medicine clinic in New York City
from 2008 to 2009, where her focus was preventive medicine, digestive
disorders, and integrative cancer care. In September 2009, she returned to her Minnesota roots with her partner, David, to start their new family and welcome daughter Fiona into the world.
