I have been practicing yoga for the past 20+ years and received training beginning in 1999-2000 when I received my 200 hour certification. Subsequent to that, and including during that time, I began attending Kripalu in the late 1980's (1989 when it was still an ashram with a spiritual leader, Amrit Desai). I began teaching for New York Sports Club upon completion of my 200 hours and remain teaching there at present. I work privately with clients who have joint (primarily hip) issues who are referred to me by my orthopedist. I have begun study with Tias Little, Prajna Yoga, who is Iyengar and Ashtanga trained. Congruent with my teaching, I received my Master's degree in Counselor Education with training anad certification in Family and Group Therapy. I have worked in the areas of substance use; mental health; homelessness and the medical field (immunology: HIV/AIDS) for the past few decades. I bring to the teaching of yoga the sense of transformation on anda off the mat through physical and spiritual pracatices of yoga.
