I am a newly trained yoga teacher. Yoga has been a big part of my life for the past three years. Physically, I have become stronger and more flexible. This has, without a doubt, carried over mentally & emotionally. I feel like a completely different person from three years ago. I am so much calmer and more able to appreciate the little things in my environment. I breathe more, and I sleep better. I am able to let things go that I would not have been able to in the past. This past year, my family went through a very stressful event, and although it rocked my proverbial boat, I was able to handle it in the best way possible. I had my annual evaluation by my boss (the principal at one of my schools) and she noted in her evaluation, how much better I seem to be dealing with stress this year as opposed to my first year on the job, and I give much of the credit to my yoga practice. When I am not teaching or practicing yoga, I am a school psychologist at two local elementary schools.
