I have been involved with sports and exercise since I was young kid and participated in soccer, swimming and field hockey. I was always active up until my senior year in high school when I slowed down a little on sports and gained about 55 pounds. I went off to college at 5 foot 2 and weighing in at 185 pounds. I quickly realized that this was not the person that I wanted to be and taught myself to eat a well balanced diet in a college cafeteria and to exercise more than I partied. I went home for the summer in 2001 after my freshman year at the University of Pittsburgh and had not only avoided gaining the freshman 15 but lost the freshman 55!! I was a slim and trim 130 pounds. My weight has not really changed in the past 10 years by keeping exercise exciting through 10k's, marathons and triathlons!
I began my professional fitness journey in March of 2010 when I decided to leave the corporate world of finance and pursue a career in health and wellness! I started researching a good certification, studied, passed my exam and landed a job in July of 2010 at Sport and Health in Reston Virginia. I have been training there now for about a year and a half and have built my clientele up to seeing about 30 clients a week. My clients range from healthy adults between the ages of 25 and 80 to special populations like college athletes, teens, pre-natal moms and injuries. I am currently working on a pre-natal/post-partum certification and will begin a nutrition course in the new year.
