Keisha Bolden’s
journey to Yoga and Pilates began as a result of her background as a
professional dancer and choreographer. Keisha Bolden began studying yoga
12 years ago and has studied Hatha, Bikram, Vinyasa, and Ashtanga. She
has been practicing Pilates for 6 years. Keisha has studied as the
student of master teachers, Swami Mahadevananda, Swami
Sivaswaroopananda, Bhooma Chaitanya, and Ted Ryan.
In class, Keisha encourages
clients to challenge themselves while maintaining purity and simplicity
of movement. Her teaching style is infused with positive energy,
honesty, and inspirational flow. Students are taught to focus inward and
to develop ultimate trust for their bodies. Keisha believes that there
is a Yoga for everyone and encourages students to find their comfort
level within each pose.
In February of 2008, Keisha
was blessed with the opportunity to live, study and teach yoga in India
for 6 months. In addition to joining the teaching staff at the Sivananda
Vedanta Ashram, Keisha managed the ashram’s Karma Yoga program. This
position is what greatly inspired Keisha to continue her work in Karma
Yoga.
During her classes and sessions, Keisha draws from different disciplines to help clients achieve their personal goals. Her background in dance and choreography has been an important resource in exploring the movement and structure of the human body. Specializing in Yoga, Pilates, and Spin, Keisha loves being able to offer options that are tailor made for the individual. She enjoys teaching to all ages, shapes, and sizes throughout the East Coast.
